Background:

Unknown to Jennifer, her father Robert Kennsington once worked for NASA on a top secret space probe program. Alongside Thomas Coleson, Robert was exposed to alien radiation that made minor changes to his DNA over time, and subsequently passed the mutation on to his daughter when she was born. A routine head X-ray while she was at the dentist office in high school caused the mutation to further advance, improving Jennifer's overall brain function and granting her impressive psycho-kinetic abilities. Confiding in his former colleague, Robert explained to Thomas that his daughter was starting to develop strange abilities and was surprised when Thomas informed him the same thing was happening to his own daughter, Ashley. The two agreed to keep this information a secret, especially from the government and their former supervisors at NASA, and both did the best they could to help their daughters adapt to their developing abilities and powers. Jennifer and Ashley met several times when they were younger, though they wouldn't see each other for several years after Ashley joined the Air Force, the two later rekindling their friendship when they met in Steel City.

Jennifer attended Steel City University and majored in English, with a minor in Psychology, while also competing in gymnastics and track and field, where she was skilled enough to qualify for the Olympic team. As her powers continued to develop, Jennifer became inspired by the city's resident super heroine, the Crimson Valkyrie, and secretly developed herself a crude costume and alter ego, which she used to fight local crime around the campus at night, mainly focusing on a date rape drug ring that had set up on campus. Feeling that her powers were leading her to a higher calling, she took a position as the head librarian at SCU after she graduated, and continued to develop her abilities and heroine persona. Her constant success against the drug ring led to them bringing in a professional assassin, and on one fateful night Jennifer's luck nearly ran out as she was gunned down and severely injured. Thankfully she was saved by the timely intervention of the Crimson Valkyrie, who nursed her back to health and revealed her identity as Jennifer's good friend Tiffany Anderson. In the months that followed Tiffany helped Jennifer hone her skills and provided her with technological upgrades for her costume to help make her a more effective crime fighter. Following these events, Jennifer finally took on a serious role in the defense of Steel City, and became the heroine Psychadelic.

She would later reunite with Ashley, who had become Silver Falcon and was dating Tiffany, the former Air Force Captain and Chicago PD detective having moved to Steel City full time. While she continued to mostly deal with local criminals, leaving the more dangerous villains to Crimson and Silver, Jennifer eventually found herself in the middle of a turf war as a new gang that called themselves the Spider Clan attempted to move in on the territory of Steel City's minor gangs. This new battle would result in her meeting a new group of heroes that were powered by awakening avatars within them, most notably the Jade Eagle, Sapphire Hawk, and the Shadow Snake. While Jade and Sapphire battled the bulk of the Spider Clan's forces, Psychadelic and Shadow Snake teamed up to take out their suppliers and eventually developed a shy, but mutual attraction for one another. Shadow Snake would later reveal herself to Jennifer as the tech heiress Kirsten Marten, who had just opened a new medical technology center in Steel City with the help of Tiffany, and the two finally went on an official date and became a couple. Still struggling at times to master her developing powers, Jennifer was fortunate enough to meet Lauren Wallace, who helped her hone her telekinetic abilities and provided her with advanced hand to hand combat training, making her a force to be reckoned with as the heroine Psychadelic.

Powers and Abilities:

Olympic Level Athlete and Mutant Physique - Jennifer has maintained an athletic fitness and skill level of an Olympic Level Athlete and also possesses limited enhanced strength through her body's mutations. Due to this, she is able to incorporate her gymnast and acrobatic skill set into her movements, and she has mastered parkour to help her get around the city quickly. She has a vertical leap of nearly 5' and her enhanced physique allows her to lift objects up to 1,000 lbs.

Telekinesis - Possessing limited range telekinetic powers, Jennifer is able to levitate, move, and manipulate objects that weigh up to 5 metric tons with relative ease.

Telekinetic Blast - Mostly a defensive ability, Jennifer can summon a burst of telekinetic power to either hand that knocks back her opponent. Blast force is equivalent to a close range shotgun blast.

Levitation - With enough mental clarity, Jennifer can use her telekinetic manipulation to levitate herself to great heights, allowing her to easily access rooftops and hard to reach areas.

Advanced Hand to Hand Combat - Trained by the kunochi Lauren Wallace, who is also the heroine Silhouette, Jennifer has meshed several martial arts into an advanced hand to hand combat skill set that allows her to fight several opponents at one time. She is also capable of boosting these abilities with her telekinetic powers.

Low Level Telepathy - Jennifer is able to read surface thoughts and deeper into someone's mind if they are within a 5' radius. This ability requires a good deal of concentration on her part and can lead to her having severe migraine headaches if she uses it too often.

Staff Fighting - Trained by Lauren Wallace in the art of staff fighting, Jennifer carries two short collapsible fighting batons made from a durable synthetic metal. These batons can deploy from hip holsters on her utility belt and can also be combined into a larger staff if the situation calls for it.

Costume:

Jennifer's original costume consisted of a pink leotard worn over dark gray tights, with matching pink gloves and boots. She chose the color pink to throw off her enemies because they thought her outfit looked ridiculous so they didn't take her seriously, giving her a psychological advantage in combat scenarios. After she was severely wounded by an assassin, Tiffany Anderson helped her upgrade her costume and she now wears a smooth dark gray body sleeve made from a special nanite laced material that is bullet and knife resistant. Over the body sleeve she wears a zip up magenta colored bodysuit that is made from the same indestructible material that Tiffany used to wear as the Crimson Dynamo, and a matching pair of gloves and boots made from a synthetic leather and Kevlar blend to make them more durable. Despite her advanced telekinetic powers and combat abilities, Jennifer still wears a utility belt that contains a variety of gear that can aid her in her battles against crime. Her belt also houses a collapsible baton on each hip that Jennifer can quickly deploy in hand to hand combat situations.
