Background:

Aurora and Valera Coleson-Stormwind are the twin pure blood Asgardian daughters of the Asgardian Tiffany Coleson-Stormwind, and her honorary valkyrie wife, Ashley Coleson-Stormwind. The twins were conceived through the use of a magical ritual overseen by the goddess Freyja, which took soul essence from both Ashley and Tiffany and created their children. While originally expecting a daughter while Ashley was carrying the child on Earth, the heroic parents were blessed with the surprise of twins when the girls were born. Cassie Clarke, also known as the super heroine Astra Girl, helped deliver the twins when Ashley's water broke unexpectedly while on a trip to Chicago and became the twins first godmother. Their Midgard names became Cassandra Isabella and Melinda McKenzie, taken to honor their four godmothers in Cassie Clarke, Isla Hendry, Melinda Crane, and Emma Sapphire. The twins remained in infant form for a nearly a year, and then on their first birthday they began their rapid Asgardian growth acceleration which saw them grow into powerful but inexperienced valkyries over the next two years. While they spent most of this time in Asgard being trained and honing their newfound powers, they also bonded with their sister Amber, who cared for them while they were little and forged an unbreakable sisterly bond with the two of them. Once they had mastered their Asgardian powers, they returned to the Earth realm to live full time with Tiffany, Ashley, and Amber, along with Amber's fiance, Theresa Doherty. Adjustment to Earth life was a bit difficult at first, but the sisters found love and guidance from their family and close friends. In order to help them adapt better to the culture and environment, Melinda became a nurse at the non-profit medical clinic run in Steel City by Doctor Alexa Flores, who was also the heroine Medevac. Cassandra became a physical therapist and personal trainer, using her skills and compassion to help people recover from serious injuries alongside her good friend Theresa Doherty, who had finished her Ph. D and opened up her own physical therapy clinic and fitness center called the Steel City Ironworks. The sisters also volunteer together at the Steel City Humane Society, their natural relationships with their grandmother Valora's wolves making them naturals for helping care for the animals there. Once they got the hang of Earth life, the two young valkyries followed in their family's footsteps and using their Asgardian birth names, became the super heroines Aurora and Valera, stepping in to take up the mantle of their mothers Silver Falcon and Crimson Valkyrie when the elder heroines were recruited to assist the developing United Space Defense Force in their alter egos. Learning with each patrol and battle against evil, Cassandra and Melinda do their best to make their parents and friends proud, hoping they can live up to the legacy of their family name.

Both ladies have incorporated gifts from their godmothers into their respective costumes. Aurora's cape was fashioned from her baby blanket, which was actually Astra Girl's cape that was used to swaddle the newborn valkyrie when she became the surprise twin. Her belt buckle is made from a jeweled meteorite shard that came from the meteorite fragment that gave Isla Hendry her cosmic powers and allowed her to become the heroine Spitfire. Melinda's enchanted golden bracers were a gift from Mindy Marvel, the herald of Abbridon, and her tall white boots were crafted on the soles of a pair of the Shadow Samurai's ballet flats made tangible and gifted to her when she showed an interest in dancing. The two ladies are also heavily influenced by their family members, and while Aurora is a bit more conservative with her costume, wearing a cape to honor her aunts Astra Girl, Mindy Marvel, and Nocturne, Melinda likes to show off a bit more, her look inspired by her martial arts trainer and fellow heroine Jade Eagle. Both have inherited their mother's traits, with Cassandra being a bit more balanced and level headed, while Melinda is more flirtatious and fiery, though she does have a shy side when first meeting people. Melinda has taken up painting and artistic dance as hobbies, while Cassandra is more drawn to photography and rock climbing, though they both share a love for exotic food and drink. Both are extremely overprotective of their sister Amber, who often cared for them while they were infants.
