Background:
Serenity is an alien life form of the Huu'larian race, hailing from deep in the cosmos beyond the Milky Way. She was on an exploratory mission to map out planets in the Milky Way, only for her ship to experience a catastrophic system failure which caused her to crash land deep in the Canadian wilderness on Earth. The crash knocked her unconscious and she was recovered by the Canadian government which immediately moved to cover up the incident and took her deep into one of their remote science facilities. They kept her in stasis there while studying her abilities and advanced genetics. They secretly hoped to duplicate her DNA and use it for top secret military projects. Serenity remained in a coma like state for nearly thirty years while they studied her, but one day she finally awoke to find herself a captive lab rat.
This proved to be a minor inconvenience as she used her advanced mental abilities to force one of the scientists to release her from her stasis pod. She then used her powers to sift through the memories of her captors, using their knowledge to increase her own understanding of the strange planet she now found herself trapped on. After a few hours she had tapped into both her captors minds as well as their advanced computer systems and her advanced intelligence allowed her to learn the history of Earth and its people. Using her shape shifting abilities, Serenity easily escaped the lab and slipped out into the world, where she does her best to remain hidden as she studies the people of Earth while searching for a way to make it home.
Eventually she made her way to Steel City, where she became intrigued by the other powered individuals she found there. A chance meeting with the Crimson Valkyrie and an accidental deep mind meld with the heroine caused Nyeera and the scientist Tiffany Johnson to become "bond sisters" and close friends. This eventually led to Nyeera being able to settle down and adapt to human society. After meeting a few other heroines and finding a fellow alien stranded on Earth in the heroine Quasar, she began to use her powers to help them in their quest to rid the world of crime and evil. She still stays low key however, not wanting to draw the government in to her location while she also constantly debates with herself over whether or not humanity is worth protecting in the first place. She knows of their history, but she also sees potential in them and she knows of many dangers that exist far out in space that humanity may never see coming. In her human disguise she works as an executive producer for a news station, which allows her to stay on top of the many things going on around her new planet.
Alien Culture and Background: (Coming Soon)
Powers:
Advanced Fighting Skills - Serenity was well trained as a Huu'larian scout to be well versed in a variety of alien weaponry and fighting styles. While most of her equipment was confiscated after her ship crashed, she was able to retrieve some of her arsenal, though she refrains from using it to avoid drawing attention to herself.
Limited Shape Shifting - Serenity can change the color of her skin and hair, along with some of the features of her face to assume different identities so she can blend in with humanity.
Telekinesis - Serenity can use her powerful mind to lift and move objects many times her own weight. She has been seen using this power to lift objects up to 5 tons, though continued use of this power can put a strain on her mind and stamina.
Mind Tracing - Serenity has the power to tap into someone's mind and briefly "scan" all of the data and knowledge they have accumulated in their lifetime. While experiencing this, her target is normally placed in a relaxed state of euphoria.
Telepathy - Serenity can use her powerful mind to communicate with others and she has limited mind control abilities as long as she is close enough to her target.
Telekinetic Shielding - Serenity can go into a defensive mode, using her powerful mind to create a shield of telepathic energy that is powerful enough to stop large scale explosions and artillery. Maintaining this shield can put a strain on her mind and stamina, depending on the size and the amount of force it is absorbing.
Rapid Healing/Advanced Metabolism - Serenity's alien metabolism allows her to heal at an incredibly fast rate, and her body processes drugs and toxins very rapidly.
Weaknesses and Limitations:
Serenity does not have any main weaknesses, but there are limits to her powers. Using her telekinetic abilities can wear her out both mentally and physically, to the point of utter exhaustion. There are also certain ranges she can use her telepathy at, and some of her abilities will not work through heavy metal barriers or armor. Her mind tracing ability requires direct physical contact with the target being and requires her to maintain heavy concentration levels. She must also be very careful as any distraction or abrupt breaking of the mental link while she uses this power can result in permanent mind damage to the target being.
While being a member of an advanced alien race, Serenity still has some weaknesses to basic human weapons like firearms and blades. She can also be knocked unconscious from heavy blows and powerful attacks absorbed by her telekinetic shields. She is also vulnerable to extreme cold, which can prevent her from using her shape shifting powers and makes her feel very sluggish to a point she has trouble focusing enough to use her powers.

I've liked Serenity since you first started working on her CV. The added element in this bio of her having the mental conflict of whether humanity is worth being protected was a nice nod. Serenity definitely feels like she has that alien/outside perspective. Nothing in a bad way where she's aloof or doesn't care, but its nice to have her with a different way of looking at things than other characters.
Great work CV!

Hopefully I'll finish up her initial arc with Crimson at some point which will give a bit more of a look into her character, in addition to her eventual encounter with Skyhawk(who is from a future where Serenity's race tried to take over Earth so that leads to some initial fireworks) which will go into her alien origins a bit more.

Not sure she's that powerful, she certainly is formidable with her mind, but not quite as OP as Jean/Phoenix.

Yes, aliens can be a lot of fun, but kind of hard to write for since you are essentially making everything up and you have to create an entire new universe just to explain their origin.

I can completely relate to that. Even on a larger scale sadly

Nice set of powers, and she looks just beautiful in her alien form, or actually her real form! Her telekinetic powers and advanced technology sort of remind me of the Asari from Mass Effect.

She was heavily influenced from Mass Effect, a mix of Asari/Turian/Salarian

That's quite a combination! By the way, I was wondering. This Class/Threat Level that you have in other character profiles too, how is it graded exactly?

CrimsonVlkyrie In reply to bob-warden [2017-02-23 01:16:06 +0000 UTC]
Alpha/Beta would be top of the scale for various reasons. It's somewhat loosely based on Marvel's old power scale, can't remember where I found it.

I see. I do remember something like this in X-Men: The Last Stand, where Jean Grey was the only level 5 mutant and Magneto and Pyro were above level 3, but that was the only mention. Actually, they were pretty vague on the whole thing.

It was something more general for the comics and it included a bunch of attributes such as types of powers and the characters intelligence played a large role in it as well.

It seems you have better luck with coming up with cool race names than I did when I first made the "Hekauran" (adapted from the Egyptian word "heka" and "aura") race. Then again, you've been doing this longer and far better.

Great new addition CV! Like her background a lot and the fact she's got a different power base than some of your other heroines. Nice design for her human and alien/heroine forms. Interesting choice going for the extreme cold affecting her, not usually a weakness I see , I like it
Look forward to her showing up in Steel City!

Well I think that's because they made her a bit of a bitch on the cartoon, especially with how she acted with her teammates. I don't care for that version of her, but I like the comic book version and of course love her original costume.

Guess we just see it differently, though I was never a fan of the "kids" Justice League or whatever that show was, always preferred the original Justice League on CTN.
