General Information:

Alexa Flores is a former medical helicopter paramedic who gained her unique super powers by complete accident. Always the first to rush into danger to try to help and save people, Alexa was trying to free the driver of a Crey Industries van after a several vehicle accident on the highways of Skyway City. After helping the driver escape she heard what she thought was someone banging around in the van's cargo bay trying to get out, but after forcing the door open she was greeted by the strange site of an amorphous silver ball bathed in orange energy bouncing around the cargo area. Before she could react the strange object slammed into her and knocked her unconscious. She awoke several hours later in a hospital bed and in a panic accidentally activated her powers and destroyed several pieces of medical equipment around her. When it was deduced that she had someone inherited strange new powers she was moved to a more secure wing of the hospital, but not before Crey got wind of the incident and sent a capture team disguised as medical personnel to capture Alexa.

Crey managed to sedate and capture Alexa, but they were ultimately thwarted by Cynthia Summers, a freelance photo journalist who happened to be covering the aftermath of the highway accident at the hospital. After witnessing the kidnapping she pursued the Crey getaway van in her heroic alter ego as the super heroine Quasar, and ultimately rescued Alexa and took her to the safety of her own home. Initially frightened and standoffish, Alexa soon accepted Cynthia's help and was introduced to Tiffany Johnson, who helped her learn about her new abilities. Eventually Alexa decided to train and use her powers to do what she always had done, help people in danger. She soon emerged back on the scene in a form fitting red and white costume, patrolling the streets of Paragon, and now Steel City, as the heroine Medevac.

Costume:

As Medevac, Alexa wears a form fitting two piece costume that consists of a pair of white nano-flex pants underneath a figure hugging red nanoflex zip up bodysuit with white sleeves. She wears elbow length red gloves and over the knee red boots, made from a durable synthetic material that can stand up to the use of her powers and super speed. Her boots are flat soled with special built in traction hubs to help her better control her mobility when she is using her speed powers. Alexa also has a smooth black belt that she wears with hidden compartments for basic gear she needs as Medevac. The compartments are hidden on the top part of the belt and the belt is made from a synthetic metal that seamlessly fits with her bodysuit so it doesn't cause drag when she's using her super speed. Finally she wears a red mask with special amber lenses to protect her eyes. Alexa normally wears her suit unzipped a bit, giving a glimpse of a black choker she wears around her neck.

Powers:

After the accident that gave her super human abilities, along with extensive training, Alexa was able to harness the following powers and abilities:

Super Speed: Alexa can use her control of kinetic energy to lower her mass and build up her inertia to incredible levels. She has been tracked moving as fast as Mach 1 on the ground. She can run fast enough to simply run up the sides of buildings, or leap incredibly long distances through the air.

Super Leaping: Alexa can lower her mass and boost her inertia to incredible levels that allow her to jump very high, in addition to allowing her to cover incredible distances through the air.

Kinetic Energy Control: Alexa can control and manipulate the kinetic energy of any object, allowing her to change its mass and inertia, or charge it up to the point it can explode if the energy is not released. In turn she can use this ability on herself or teammates, increasing their powers or durability.

Kinetic Charge Blast: Alexa can build up the energy in her arms and release it in a short range, hard hitting energy blast.

Kinetic Darts: Alexa can create a barrage of small short rage energy projectiles to use against opponents.

Kinetic Shielding: Alexa can project a small (person sized) kinetic barrier around herself or someone else. This barrier is resistant to small arms fire and other objects, and provides limited protection from elemental and energy attacks.

Other Abilities:

In addition to her kinetic powers, Alexa has a boosted metabolism that helps her heal faster and fight off infection and sickness more quickly. Because of this she is always hungry. She is also an expert field medic and hospital nurse. While not a heavy hitter by any means, Alexa has trained in mixed martial arts and wrestling to make herself a more formidable close quarters combatant. She will often use this training mixed with her kinetic powers to create devastating melee combos. She trains and stays in peak physical condition, often sparring with her close friend and romantic interest Hurricane.

Alexa calls Tiffany Johnson and Cynthia Summers her closest friends and often refers to them as sisters. She has been known to aid both of them in their crime fighting endeavors and will help them and their friends out whenever she can. Though she has made the acquaintance of many other heroines, she mostly keeps to herself in her private alter ego life, devoting much of her time to training and working as a nurse at a volunteer clinic in Steel City. Through her clinic work she met Jasmine Patel and Isla Hendry, also known as the British super heroines Lotus and Spitfire. Through them she was introduced to the third member of their "British Bombshells" team, a young Scottish woman named Charlotte who also possessed the powers of super speed. Going by the name Hurricane, Jasmine arranged for Charlotte and Alexa to meet in a charity race in Scottland, where Medevac allowed the young heroine to "win" by a hair length so she would receive the adoration of her home crowd. Having joked around that the "loser" had to buy dinner, Alexa and Charlotte both acted on a mutual attraction for one another and enjoyed an incredibly romantic weekend in the highlands of Scotland. Now they are in the midst of a flirtatious and budding romance, much to the delight of their friends.

Enemies:

Medevac has drawn the ire of the devious Doctor Kotetsu and is a target of great importance to the mad scientist since he wants to study and gain her powers of super speed and density control.

Interesting Facts:

Alexa's favorite food is buffalo chicken pizza and she will often eat an entire pizza easily in one sitting.

Despite being an amazing athlete in high school with several scholarship offers for soccer and track, Alexa decided to go to nursing school since her primary passion in life was helping others. She eventually became a doctor and now runs a free medical clinic in Steel City. In addition, she also travels the world and works with the World Health Organization and her fellow doctors Jasmine Patel and Layla Asheera to bring modern health remedies to third world areas.

In her spare time Alexa enjoys reading sci-fi novels and playing chess online.

Just wanted to take a moment to introduce my new OC Medevac! I've wanted to have a speedster for awhile and she was a character that I ran and played in City of Heroes as a kinetics/energy defender. I had a blast playing her and thought her powers might be interesting enough to bring her over into my story world here on DA, so here we go...
