Description
Electricity is wild and difficult to tame; only the most clever and quick of cats can truly perfect this element! This week... all the electriccats have disappeared. Huh?
Cats of this element have suddenly found themselves trapped in a dark, mysterious room, faced with a locked door and a series of strange glass bulbs. As a team, try to solve this Lightning Puzzle!
Thus begins the third week of this summer's Unity Festival! This festival marks a time to celebrate cats of every element and power. It is divided into five weeks; the first four are centered around specific elements, while the final week will conclude the festival with prizes and challenges! Last year, the focus was on fire, water, earth and wind, so to mix things up, this years elements will be completely different! Now, we have the element of electricity!
>> To participate in this prompt, you can leave a comment below regarding one of the elements you notice in the picture- a question you may have about the mysterious room or an action you'd like to perform. I will reply with more information or the impact of your action! Keep in mind you don't have to own an electriccat to participate, but you will have to imagine the character you're controlling is one. <<
You can also consider this week a regular prompt or writing your characters response to this event- are they an electriccat confused by their sudden capture? Or an outsider wondering where all the electriccats have gone? As usual, by participating you will automatically be given 5 coins, but you can add on to that amount by following this chart .
In addition, during this week all FT members are given one free electriccat slot! This will expire when the next element event starts (August 15th).
SPEAKING OF PRIZE... the winner for last week's workshop was chosen! Congratulations, Lunar-Snows ! As always I loved reading your comic, I love seeing what silly stuff your characters get up to during these events! And as always your lantern design was unique and wonderfully strange!
Your prize is... a badge for your custom lamp!
This item allows you to continue creating magical and strange lanterns, for yourself and others! These can be worn as accessories or just carried about to shed some light.
>> Oddly enough... this week's badge has also gone missing! Perhaps the puzzle has to be completed in order to unlock it?

There are strange markings on the door- do they mean anything?

Upon inspecting the symbols, you decide they don't seem to represent any language or message... but they do have a sort of electrical pattern to them. Perhaps that's a clue on how to get out of here?

Can I analyze the electrical pattern and see if anything in the room (like the orbs) would fit with the pattern?

You scan the room, and make notice of how the patterns connecting the orbs seem to have a sort of electrical look to them as well. The orbs reflect the light of your lightning tail.

Can I use the electricity in my tail to zap the patterns connecting the orbs that correspond with those on the door?

CRITTERRRR In reply to TigToggle [2019-08-14 19:37:49 +0000 UTC]
Electricity connects to the grooves in the wall and flows into the nearest glass bulb. The orb illuminates from the inside... however as a few moments pass, the light dims. perhaps all four orbs need to be zapped simultaneously, in order to power the one on the door?
You can now draw, write, or RP yours or someone elses electriccat character charging an orb! Now you have to find three others to collaborate with you, or make their own separate drawings, in order to complete the circuit.

There's. A window. Or a gutter. Or something up over the door, maybe since there's so many electriccats they use each other to stack and check the window thing? Idk

CRITTERRRR In reply to Ginqerbee [2019-08-11 23:19:11 +0000 UTC]
By encouraging a few other electriccats to stack on top of each other, you're able to peer through the grates and into a dark vent, breathing cold air back at you.
You could squeeze inside if you were to zap the bars... but should you go alone, or invite others to join you?

You are joined by Lunar-Snows and CRITTERRRR in the vent. The three of you wiggle and push yourselves further into the crawlspace. You continue inching along, beginning to wonder after a while if there would ever be an end to this tunnel.
And then you encounter another air vent. An orange glow is peering through it, but there is limited space to see through and the room on the other side is unclear. The three of you crowd around as quietly as possible, and listen to the voices on the other side...
-"...She is not happy. Do you suppose she'll sever the alliance with him?"
--"Doesn't matter too much to me. 'Not like he'd ever mess with us."
-"Idiot. That's because we're allied. If we turn our backs on him, his guards will be on us like that--
and then where would we be? Ripped to shreds in his stupid arena."
--"Ahh, right. But we've got ways of avoiding him. And you know the ol' girl, she's probably already cooked up a scheme to have him killed."
-"Not sure if it's that easy, bud. You know, quite frankly, I think things will sort themselves out.
You know what happened to the Halfway Point-- to the Forgottens. He's quite good at making enemies, eh?"
--"Surprisingly so. But Sanjukta is not an enemy I'd like to have."
Would you like to stay, and listen further, but risk being caught? Or go with the information you've already gathered?

You, Lunar-Snows and CRITTERRRR crouch silently and continue to listen.
-"Where is she now, anyway? She left in a real hurry."
--"Something about her daughters, the ones in the Kingdom. I don't like to get involved in that stuff."
-"Riiiight. What's the one's name? Katya? She was nice on the eyes."
--"I'm sure San' would love to hear you say that."
Man, all this sitting still is really starting your cramp up your legs. You shift, accidentally bumping into the cat next to you, causing all three of you to shuffle and become awkwardly stuck in the vent. All this shuffling makes quite the ruckus, alerting the mysterious cats.
Do you choose to face them or escape?

For a moment there is silence as the three cats waited to be caught, holding their breaths... and then a wide orange eye passes over the grate, peering in at them!
"HEY! We've got a few peepers in here! Help me rip them out of the vent!
Allow me, you think, before zapping the grate and unleashing the full force of your attack alongside Lunar-Snows and CRITTERRRR !

They all lead to the glass in the middle. Maybe a flow of electricity would do something to the door or maybe light the room up

By zapping one of the orbs, it suddenly seems to illuminate from the inside, filling the room with a bright glow. However, after a few moments pass, the glow dims... perhaps all four orbs need to be zapped simultaneously, in order to power the one on the door?

A lot of the lines look like static grooves or lines, possibly representing electrical wiring or arcs. Some of them are connecting the orbs, so maybe they (orbs) need to be connected in another way? Like a circuit or something?

Can the characters be hybrids though? Because I dont have a pure electriccat and I have way too many characters I definitely don't need any more

You're just barely able to grasp the edge of the vent. Zapping a hole through the bars, you're able to squeeze through and climb into the vent...
Before you lies a long, dark tunnel, and a cold air seems to flow out from the darkness. Now you must decide... go forth alone, or call for others to follow?

I would like to scout out beforehand, to make sure it's completely safe for us to go through. So I'd Go forth alone, to make sure it's safe for the others? It's better to take a risk for myself to make sure there's no risk for the others.

Of course, i'm curious, and knowing who these two are might have something about why we're trapped here. I'll stay a little bit longer, at least until I learn something useful like about where we are. Once I have a decent amount of information or the risk happens, I'll try and get outta there.
