I haven't done an Attack on Titan/ Shingeki no KyojinΒ fan art in a while, and I don't think I've ever drawn Levi. I tried out a new coloring technique again, blending a lot of cool colors and warm colors together for shading and highlights. Also, I'm pretty proud of my line art. It's so thin and detailed. It took me FOREVER!Anyway... Enjoy Heichou

Do you normally like paint/blend it or do you do something more similar to cell shading for your colours?

I normally paint it, but I usually don't use so many different colors. For example, for the skin, I would shade using a slightly darker reddish brown, but using this new technique, I used purples and blues and blended them with the yellow-peach color of the skin, and used light orange and yellow for the highlights. Really, I'm just paying more attention to the temperature of the colors I'm using.

I literally use one layer for one object. So like in my Howl piece, all of Howls colours were one colour. And I just kept adding more and more colours to the shading. My backgrounds are usually like 3 - 10 layers though, since I use a lot of overlay for lighting and stuff like that.Β

I change it up normally, but in the pieces where I have very specific, detailed line art, I have different layers for everything: the eyes, skin, clothes, etc.

If you label all the layers, it's not so bad. I also group a bunch of layers, so that keeps them pretty organized.
