This is something (Mos Def) I'm doing for a friend right now, a work in progress as the title states....any suggestions?
I'm kind of stuck as is...looking for a little something to add to it....

excellent! i say leave it as is.
since you're looking for a suggestion, you could add some of the smokey grey to some areas of the black... i don't know... just an idea to break up that space a little.

That is exactly what I was going for here, grime, grit, a certain dirtiness and toughness. It helped out a lot listening to this album before doing it, gave me the right feel for sure.

Incredible work with just the black and white shades. Very nice work! I like the brush work. Very amazing work like your other pieces. I also like the paint that's running down the painting..gives it a texture feel to it.

You know I would really like to see just a little color like maybe in the eye just a little bit as if that way it would draw your attention to them. I'm not really sure if that's what you were looking for but I love seeing black and white paintings with just that one focul point of color. I've even seen some where they put colors here and there through out the piece so that it would help draw your eye around in it.
