Description
When you find a strange gift in the middle of nowhere it will become your best friend. Mimic is a construct that follows the D&D party around in the game I DM.Almost everything is a new experience for him. He's creepy, monotone, kicks the shit out of enemies, and is entirely 100% adorable.

He hasn't seen a classical mimic yet, but he has seen other artificial mimics like himself (generally less fancy and less sapient than himself).

Oh when I say follows around the party, he's not stalking them. He's an artificial construct that's being taken on a test run by the party for his creator's benefit. While he will not always follow orders, he sees the party as his "family". He's more like a fighter as far as Class goes. He is neither subtle nor clever, and is just generally good at hitting stuff or stopping things from getting hit.

Sounds like an interesting character to roleplay with! I like their design a lot. I'm happy you didn't make him straight up just a thing that walks with a treasure chest on it's head. Not that would have been a bad idea, but it's refreshing when someone does a new take on a classic creature.

Thanks. In this setting, mimics come in many different flavors. Some are the classic beasts that feed on flesh and hide as everyday objects, while there are also artificial mimics that feed on metal and a magical substance called "Raw Color". Some of these are humanoid and he's one of them. He's basically being taken on a test run by the party for his creator's benefit.

He has a habit of throwing monsters at other monsters, and eating the metal weapons of enemies that take a swing at him. The party likes him.
