Description
Reasons why it took me so long to do this page:1. Lost the page plans--had to redraw them all today, and just managed to get this in.
2. Tabby decided to NOT WORK. So I did this all with my laptop pad. Which is...which is painful.
3. ...This page was just hard on me for some reason. BOOO.
Anyway...mmhmm... Ned just experienced one of his SNAP moments.
Looks like something's going to happen next page, huh?

....Wait a tic'...
If it's falling over slowly enough that Hassan has time to predict its course of trajectory AND plan accordingly, why would he PULL the cart toward him, where the van looks most likely to fall?
Wouldn't that just be detrimental to himself, Marina and Ned? I think considering his placement behind the cart and his predisposition to save Marina, wouldn't he PUSH the cart out of the way?
I think I get what you're trying to do: having a dangerous episode occur at the same time as one of Ned's, erm... dangerous episodes. But from their vantage point, Ned's actually doing the smart thing by trying to get Marina out of harm's way from Hassan, who is now for some reason intent on murdering her. =/
I like the idea, it's just the placement of the characters betrays their nature. I gather Ned is the one who is supposed to be endangering them by having an uncontrolled psychotic fit. But because him pulling Marina toward him would actually be BENEFICIAL...
I'm sorry, I know I'm being a bitch about this lately. Should I just wait until the next page to see where this is going? I'm sure I'll look like an idiot for saying all of this. I trust you know what you're doing.

Personally I found this page very effective.
And I don't see why you would think that Hassan's actions at all endanger Marina, and I certainly don't see how Ned keeping the cart where it is by pulling it back towards him would be 'beneficial'. Your analysis seems to stem from a rather ..unusual interpretation of where the characters are in relation to the van which is in contradiction to the first panel.
It seems obvious to me from the first panel that Marina is directly under the path of the van, and so is Ned. Hassan is further back, and pulling Marina back towards him would help pull her clear of the van if it fell, whereas if she stays where she is the van will fall on her. His pulling Marina towards him not only makes sense from the perspective of saving her but also on the instinctive level CrispyGyspy mentions, of him wanting to pull her closer to him. Ned is endangering Marina by tugging in a different direction and the tug-of-war between them is keeping Marina in the path of danger.

My confusion stemmed from the fact that the van looked(to me) like it was closer to Hassan. So when Ned tried to pull it away, it looked less like he was going schizoid and more like he was just very angrily being the hero.
Which is actually kind of amusing now that I think about it.

Uh dude, I don't see what's so hard to get. Ned and Marina are clearly right under the van, and Hassan isn't. I know what you're trying to get at, but I think you're really overanalyzing what's happening. It's not unbelievable, and Hassan being in a safe spot, it makes sense why he would pull her--you can kinda see that in the first panel. If he pushed her, he'd be pushing her under more car anyway if it DID happen to fall sooner.
Just sit, wait and watch okay?

It's not falling, it's creaking--threatening to fall. Believe me, when you see the next page, you'll see that it takes a little bit for the van to actually fall. The fact that he's pulling it towards himself is more of kneejerk reaction, like trying to bring your child toward you. It's not him reacting to an IMMEDIATE threat--it's him reacting to something like... say you saw a dangerous dog in the path in front of you, it's just kind of like "OKAY, avoiding that." It's more an attempt to avoid something that CAN happen as opposed to trying to avoid something that is JUST ABOUT TO HAPPEN OMG GET OUT OF THE WAY.
And I think it's the way that I drew the first panel that gets it really messed up, considering that the way it was supposed to look was that Ned and Marina were actually directly beneath the car. Believe me, I had to redraw that several times, and I know that it doesn't translate well. >.< So in turn, from their vantage point it looks like Ned's actually trying to force Marina directly INTO harms away as opposed to out of it.

Damn! That was in my original script, but I figured that there'd be some bitching and moaning from the other end.
And then there was the fundamental question over if it would be Charlie's baby or Ned's baby, and I just couldn't choose.

I think it's gonna be Hassan who gets it. Because Ned is going to yank the cart towards him, thus pulling Hassan into the path of the falling vehicle. Yes that has to be it. You wouldn't kill Princess Marina would you Crispy?!

Sounds a bit evil to me, I like that, but if it kills him, it would be on accident...well, most likely.

I think the only way I can stand to see these characters die is if it is an accident. I like them too much for them to murder each other.

I wish none of them would die... but alas, 'tis inevitable. Your version sound sthe most plausible, though we gotta sit tight, wait and see.
I was thinkin' it in my head, but hearing it voic- I mean, reading it typed out is really harsh.
Poor Hassan. D:

I know! It doesn't sound so awful until you think about it completely. Being crushed by a car = not good. :worried:
I am so excited for the next page tho. Which sounds cruel, but I wanna know who it is!

And here I was getting a little crush on Hassan, too. And Ned. And Charlie. And the tiny, microbic percentage of me that is both gay and pedophilic loves Marina, too... And they's gonna DIE.
It really didn't hit me that hard until it materialized. Maybe now's a good time for me to stop while I'm ahead and quit reading DeviantDead. If this is the first round, who knows how heated things will get...
Gosh, this is killing me, too.
