Description NO I AM NOT INSULTING ANY PEOPLE WITH LACKADAISY FAN CHARACTERS. Seriously. I think they're fun enough to go looking through. *laughs* It was a joke, and anyhow, I have a fan character that fits into that description. *laughs*

I guess when I portray myself in comics, I like displaying a sort of pomposity that I may or may not have in real life. YOU'LL NEVER KNOW. IS SHE JOKING? IS SHE SERIOUS? HA!

Anyway yeah. JUST A DOODLE COMIC, so of COURSE the art's not fragging spectacular. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME? I'm doing commissions! *laughs*

Funnily enough, the first lackadaisy fan character is probably a more honest caricature of myself than the human portrayal.

Hello!

My name is Anni Oja. I'm master's student of art education in University of Lapland, Finland. Subject of my master's thesis is comic-based fanart in internet art gallerys. I'd like to show your "Lackadaisy Fancharacter" and "Lackadaisy Buss in Boots" fanart pictures based on Lackadaisy as a visual example in my thesis. The picture would be used as an educational purpose only. Naturally I mention you and Tracy Butlers Lackadaisy as the source of the picture.

Many thanks!

I almost cried. That is some funny stuff.

Fancharacters are tricky business, actually. The one time I thought of a Lackadaisy one, she was the day cook. Who doesn't like pancakes. I think I like yours in the last panel waaaay better. ACTION-ADVENTCHAAAAA!

Funny thing is, I was just thinking about this particular subject the other day. I make fan characters, but generally they're kinda... irrelevant. Take the one I made for Lackadaisy: The dowdy, hair-trigger tempered, once southern belle widow of a farmer who died fighting in WWI. Just so happens that her only connection with the story at all is that it's HER corn field that Viktor and Mordecai crash into in the Quick-Fix comic, because I only had three thoughts throughout it: 1) MAN, Viktor is AWESOME!! 2) That POOR little guy in the back seat needs a HUG!! ...and a rescue party. 3) The farmer who owns that field is gonna be POed!!

Sorry! I wrote you a novel here! Thanks for being fantastic!

Actually, a lot of women in the 20s DID wear the Flapper-style outfits, since the style was just a simple shift and very easy to replicate at home (ie, Do It Yourself Fashion).

So long as they aren't all wearing fringe and jewelry and junk.

I studied the twenties enough for certain projects to know that; the point in the comic is that a lot of the images used for the lackadaisy fan characters are cliches or totally borrowed from characters that are already there.

And anyhow, this is such a jesty comic. Come on.

Genuine *lol* to that. It's for very similar reasons that I try to avoid self-insert characters. XD

Why you avoid making them or avoid dealing with them? *laughs*

Heheh. Making them....though I suppose dealing with them qualifies too.

XD yeah alot of my characters tend to be a mixture of qualities I wish I had with a dash of my worst faults. Ends up balancing it out somehow.

A very astute observation. A lot of people forget that there are other people besides the obvious "cool" stock characters.
