THIS IS OLD. I FOUND THIS IN AN OLD FOLDER. I DON'T KNOW IF I EVER POSTED IT.Back when I was 17 years old (3-4 years ago), a friend of mine plus her sister had decided to do a doujinshi of Phoenix Wright/ Apollo Justice in which Gant came back... this time as the defendant.
This is Gant and the Victim. I did a piece of art for this "doujin" before way back when, and that was of the Main witness "Wayne A. Komplis," Casey's husband: [link]
SO WHY I POST THIS? Because it made me laugh. And to make you guys feel better about yourselves.
...I also think I'm going to have to redraw Gant. Christ almighty, I like knowing I got better.

I want to pick this up again if only for the characters. I'd have to re-think everything from the motive to the actual murder, however. And that'll be a hard go.
The colouring is nice and shaded well. And their clothing designs are really cool.

I love the characters and I love the thought of Gant doing something good for once (though, after that whole GANT IS APOLLO'S DAD theory came out, it made the whole somehow hilarious for me). But yes O: It's stuff to play around with.

Yes, it is. I do love these characters, too, and the idea of Gant being the good guy for once. Because if I look at it too long, he's a great guy to play around with.

Well, I like considering the fact that Gant was a great detective and policeman once upon a time, and I think a lot of the time he mentioned that one of his motivations behind doing what he did was so that he would always get his man XD I know he did some pretty evil, horrible, terrible, disgusting things in his time, but he started out as someone sympathetic, albeit intimidating... transformations happen I guess.
O: Yup. imma do Casey and Rina and Lani and Wayne too, hopefully. I don't know if I'll be able to animate them (I only started making sprites today. Tru fax.) but I think it'd be a fun project anyway.

Two, that fan theory is... AWESOME. AAAAAAAWESOMEEEEEEE. I want it to be canon for some weird reason now.
Maybe I'm just easily persuaded. IDK. Kinda how someone mentioned in an offhand comment somewhere that Misty and Greg hooked up a long time ago and had Miles, which makes Maya his sister. It's completely RANDOM, but it didn't really leave my mind.
Yeah, Apollo is now Gant's son. I'll find a way to MAKE it work in my mind.

A lot of people have also accepted that young, young Franziska has pigtails. The amount of pictures out there. Fanon is a strange thing.
But yeah, that's.. all that is a pretty good gathering of evidence. And if they did decide to make that canon, then this fan story thing would be.. awkward funny.
Yes, they definitely do. And even if he did do some terrible things, I find myself forgiving him since he's also a sympathetic character. But then I'm also a very strange writer and tend to do some horrible things to my own characters.
Oooh. Well. When/if you get them done, may I see them? I'd love to take a look. And even not animated, they look good. Really good for having started just one day. You rock.

Good to know you still love Gant and you can draw him for that commission I asked you for XD. I feel like that's how I'm gonna feel when I look in that magical folder. I'll totally be like "What is this I don't even-" and then it'll be awesome-sauce.

I don't know why that looks weird in sprite form, but it looks weird in sprite form. Probably because I wasn't expecting it. You're awesome, Crispy. I don't think you get told that enough.

Well, I figured that Phoenix Wright does the transformation into "oh look i'm obvsly bad now," so the change of clothes into mostly white, non-threatening colors was supposed to be a "LOOK, I'VE BEEN PURIFIED" choice.
