Eep.This was a shading experiment, attempting to create a creepy effect to enhance the crazy expressions. I probably overdid it a little, though. And here is an alternate version without all the shading.
It took me a while to decide what to do with Rainbow Dash for this picture. The other five were all pretty obvious, even if I exaggerated one or two of them a bit. But Dash... well, making her cower in doubt just didn't fit the theme of the picture, even if that was her equivalent breakdown, so I decided to make something up instead.
I think Rarity turned out the best here, probably due to black on white color contrast.
This is one of my entries for the December Draw-Off competition hosted by Calpain through Equestria Daily. For some reason, I didn't want to upload this here until after the final compilation post went up. And now it has, so here this is. I wish I'd been able to come up with a good background for this, but I had no idea what would look any good.

you know, now that I think about it, Rainbow dash's cowering in "Sonic Rainboom" doesn't technically counts as a breakdown. Because, If you compare it to the other 5, they had their manes all messed up in some sort of way (even though Pinkie's isn't because it's straight) but, anyways if Dash did had a breakdown, than this of her in this picture could be the one they absolutely would use. Great job!

Well, Rainbow was the only one who was Shaking like a leaf, and when Rarity asks her if she is ready to go, Rainbow is only able to sputter out some wierd noises instead of speaking which kinda tells you something.

Well, several people have mentioned that Dash's look here reminds them of that story, so it definitely seems to be a popular interpretation. Kinda funny though, I read that story only days before making this picture, yet it didn't even cross my mind as I was working on it.

its...so...difficult to look at (unerveing so well done on that frount.) i find your idea to use RDs "scare" look (simuler to one used in EP2 S1) to be a great alternative breackdown (tho knowing this i know she is...well likely "fakeing" a breackdown and hence she unnevers me the lest) the shadeing is exelent. the proborsions are great. i think i like rarity the most but my reson is because it has a erri "i have had enoth" look while seeming to have a original vector not seen in any ep (AJs seem original too attually) TS and Pinkies seem very ture to there orininals with nice added shadeing the only issue i have is that fluttershys eyes seem (this is going to sound wired...) ...suductive?(!) (i think it is the odd way one of her eyelashes rises and curls) i like the effect it casuse.
