Eep.This was a shading experiment, attempting to create a creepy effect to enhance the crazy expressions. I probably overdid it a little, though. And here is an alternate version without all the shading.
It took me a while to decide what to do with Rainbow Dash for this picture. The other five were all pretty obvious, even if I exaggerated one or two of them a bit. But Dash... well, making her cower in doubt just didn't fit the theme of the picture, even if that was her equivalent breakdown, so I decided to make something up instead.
I think Rarity turned out the best here, probably due to black on white color contrast.
This is one of my entries for the December Draw-Off competition hosted by Calpain through Equestria Daily. For some reason, I didn't want to upload this here until after the final compilation post went up. And now it has, so here this is. I wish I'd been able to come up with a good background for this, but I had no idea what would look any good.

I thought Pinky Pie's shading looks best, out of all... Just because it looks less like black airbrush tool on the edges of the drawing (which can come off as lazy) but as actual shading and REALLY makes her look angry/creepy or etc.
Dash's face looks good, but I feel like it got a bit thick on a couple points on her, AppleJack and FlutterShy sending things out of focus.

There are definitely areas in this where I would have liked to decrease the shading, but blurring vectors lags my computer so much I was cutting corners and decided it was good enough. I learned a few tricks with this first attempt, though, so I think I can do a better job with it if I try this shading method again.

I don't think soft shadows and fierce expressions mix well. Sharp, cutting, purely black shadows are better for that imo.

Celestia's face when...
This is both hilarious and completely not something I'd ever want to encounter in real life.
Personally I like the shading, makes everything look a little rounder. Only thing I'd point out (which I'm sure you're already aware of) is that some areas have too much shading, causing blurriness, eg. Applejack's torso, Fluttershy's mane, etc. I dunno how complicated it'd be to do variable levels of shading using this style, but neh.
Either way, got a giggle out of me.

The biggest problem was it lagged the crap outta my computer so much that it was really hard to even click anything. The more I zoom in, the worse it gets when looking at blurs and such, so I had to work on it zoomed out pretty far most of the time, where it's really hard to make small refinements. Because of all that, I pretty much did all the shading at once, uniformly, rather than varied appropriately for individual areas.
And it wasn't until after I submitted it that I realized there was a "No Filters" display mode I could have switched to for less lag. Otherwise I would have adjusted more of those areas where there's a bit too much shading. Personally, though, I think Applejack's hair is one of the worst areas, especially where it overlaps her face, but I actually like how Fluttershy's looks.

Fluttershy's mane is probably my favourite out of all of them, but you did a good job tussling up each one.

My story for Rainbow Dash...
Rainbow Dash has had it with the bully's (sonic rainboom) and she decides for revenge, but she gets carried away and ends up trying to hurt them servery. Soon her friends get her under control and makes her apologize for her rude acts. The episode ends with Rainbowdash writing to Princess Celestia that revenge is never the choice.
Then Bronys and Pegasister get obsesed by a new gory story by Captainsprinkles about Rainbow Dash being a murderer or something.... The End! or is it?.....

Hmm...not bad ideas. I guess I should have uploaded this here days ago, before submitting it for the competition, so I could have asked for ideas when I still had time to implement them. Ah well. I'll try out those suggestions if I ever feel like updating this here just for the sake of making it look nicer.

Yeah, there just wasn't a great solution for Dash in this picture. Scared didn't fit at all with the feeling I was going for, so I made up a look instead to match the others better.
I thought about putting her cowering in the foreground, like she was afraid of the others, but I really wanted the picture to be of all of them looking at the viewer.
Other option would have been to leave her out entirely, but that would've seemed odd too.
