Description
Backstory
Abandoned as an egg, Galien was taken in by Lumessa’s Empress, Akyion, and named her heir as she had no blood descendants.
Raised in a time of peace, Galien proved to be extremely advanced for her age academically but didn’t seem to quite grasp social interaction, often shying away from other gon and complaining that they were “too loud” or reacting more strongly to seemingly benign circumstances. Because of this, her teaching was ultimately relegated to private tutoring.
While happy in her current life, she does hope to one day achieve more.

Overview
Galien is extremely socially awkward, and due to her eccentricities, she tends to alienate potential acquaintances who decide quickly that she is “too weird” to befriend.
She is easily excitable when allowed the chance to open up, however, and extremely loyal to the few close relationships she has.

Lunar Magic
Galien can use lunar magic - a never-before-seen element theorized to be a mutation of shadow.
As a non-combat-oriented magic, she primarily uses it for convenience, levitating a book over to her from a shelf or phasing through a locked door.
Relationships
Akyion Vulcan
Galien grew up very close to her mother, and that relationship has stayed relatively the same even into her adulthood.
She knows she can trust Akyion with everything, no matter how serious. However, Akyion does tend to coddle her, and Galien wishes that she would give her the space to find her own path.
Halous Onyxcrown
Halous has been a staple in Galien’s life ever since hatching, and she often refers to the dragoness as “auntie”, much to the monarch’s delight and her own mother’s embarrassment.
Etokii Onyxcrown
Due to their parents’ close friendship, Galien has known Etokii for as long as she’s been alive and sees him as a brotherly figure. The two of them are quite close even into adulthood, as their mannerisms tend to put off most others.

*1: While not Galien’s biological mother, Akyion was the one who raised her since even before hatching, and Galien has never seen her as anything but her mother.
*2: Most dragons have hatchseasons, however, since Akyion is familiar with the human calendar of 365 days and 12 months, Galien’s exact date of hatching is known.
Her name is a combination of Gal, meaning “new,” and Ien, “start” or “begin.”
While characters used in her name directly translate to “New Beginning,” the preferred translation is “Dawn.”
She is the only known dragon of her kind.
