This was the first time I had seen the Red shouldered as well....I had only ever seen the Red tail. These are just a bit smaller, at least this one was.

Thank you! I was actually shocked to see this one. I was running around, tracking a red tail that's been perched on some light poles, and bam! there it was.

Quite so. Thankfully we seem to have a host of raptors, Red tails, Red Shoulder, Turkey Vultures and Mississippi Kites.
