Description
Lee opened his eyes to a familiar blue landscape around him, looking around in confusion. He was back where he last saw his younger self. But it was darker.. parts of the blue were more duller than others.."Why..?" He frowned, perking his ears at a scared squeak behind him.
He turned his head to see himself, a wyngling once again. But he wasn't crying or sad like last time, he looked afraid.
"Yo-You changed." The gray wyngling mumbled, eyeing his wings and colors before looking back to his face.
Lee blinked, turning to face him and nodding as he smiled nervously. "Yep, I think it's for the last time.." Why was the other afraid?
The wyngling anxiously shook his head, looking at him in sadness but mostly fear.
"There's o-one more change left."
"What? What is it?" Lee frowned and looked at the wyngling in concern, still unsettled at the sight of his young self.
"Why do you give yourself to others?"
Lee paused at the sudden question, looking at him in shock. "Wh-What do you mean?"
The wyngling shook his head, getting more and more frantic. The blue space was duller around him..
"You sacrifice yourself so much to others, It's too much for us." The child mumbled, continuing to look directly at him. This was getting.. strange... "You jumped in front of a kindrin for somebody, y-you do too much for your family. You can't take it all."
Lee frowned, lowering his ears at the what the wyngling was saying. He couldn't just take back what he did... And his only family left was Ember, why did he talk like there was more?
"I'll... I'll do what it takes for the family I have left." He grumbled, staring down the wyngling in front of him. "I have to protect them no matter what."
The wyngling looked at him sadly, shaking his head and he mumbled softly.
"How much of us are you willing to give to others who will always take?"
Lee opened his mouth to answer, but his vision blurred and everything went dark.
He woke suddenly, blinking sleepily at the dark of his room. It must be close to morning...
He sat up, looking at the window of his room and pushing his blanket off him. The sky was a dark purple blue, the color getting brighter closer to the horizon. Morning...
Lee frowned as his senses came back to him, rubbing his head a bit in confusion.
Did he dream about something?
He stopped at the sound of Ember walking about outside his room, soft humming coming from outside the door.
Probably not, he decided as he got up and left the room.
