Personality

|| Dedicated || Adaptable || Passive || Honest || Dense || Stubborn || Over-thinker ||

Monsoon is quiet and often keeps to himself, which is why his status as librarian is the perfect job for him. While not against being spoken to or invited to places, he does not engage with others on his own and much prefers others coming to him to talk. He misses a lot of social cues and is strongly honest if asked for an opinion, but he's still manages to understand metaphors due to his excessive reading and writing. Even with his vague amount of kindness towards other, he can still be stubborn about certain things at times. This most often comes out when it comes to his favorite series of books or his own writings, criticism was not something he was unfamiliar with but when it came to his favorite things, he would not budge on what he had decided. Sometimes social interactions leave him in a confused and anxious state, often thinking over certain moments he didn't like until he tires himself out. Monsoon comes off as aloof to strangers but once you get to know him more you can see how much care he puts into the things he does. His writings are often the best way to get an idea on how he feels during the moment, as he pours his emotions deeply into the characters. If trusted enough, he might even let friends read his works in progress.

Backstory

Monsoon was surprisingly raised in a large family, being the second oldest to 4 younger siblings and practically 20 nephews and nieces. They had all lived in a small isolated town, very little outsiders allowed in due to fear of hatred being spread into the hearts of the young. Monsoon and his older sibling were often left with caring for the younger ones while their parents went to find a way to make a living. Monsoon found their town's lifestyle boring, repetitive, and would sneak away during the children's naptime to read the small amount of outside books delievered to their library. The different places the authors would write of interested the small boy greatly and kept him entertained. When his older sibling suddenly left the town without a word to anyone, he took to writing to comfort his worried mind. Not long after he managed to gain his cutie mark, his family finding the small stack of stories he wrote telling the adventures of two brothers and their eventual separation.

Monsoon soon enough gathered his things and said farewell to his family and town, deciding he's ready to see the world for what it is than the stories his father told him when he was a foal. Pushing the warnings and taunts from the others, he focused on his family's support and set out to see what was out there. He's stayed at a couple towns and cities, writing about the sights and creatures he's met at each inn. It wasn't long until he heard about Applewood and the Princess' wish for it to be diverse in residents. He decided to go for it, it was a chance to see an entire town from the start and wouldn't that make for a good story one day? Maybe his lost sibling would hear of the new town too.
