I kinda wondered about that myself. Most of the crystals on this cluster have smaller crystals covering their sides. I'm not sure if there is a way to determine what those crystals could be because they are so tiny. Maybe it's more vanadinite? I have a few clusters that have crystals kinda growing on other crystals of the same type. This could be another example of that.

Do you have a hand lens or microscope? The first thing you can do is determine whether those tiny crystals have the same crystal structure as the hexagonal vanadinites, and then you can go from there.
