Description Okay, I finally got these done. I offered to draw some of Raven's monsters as a thank you for all his help and support, and also because I had to try my hand at interpreting characters and creatures XD. Still have a bunch to do, though I hope these are good for the moment.

I tried my best, though this might very well not be that much really...

Tarriod, Eurrid, Carrapod

Trial, Warbeak, Buzzer

Rachus, Gluttorous, Sludgion

All of them belong to :iconRavensaurus_Rex:

I hope you like em man. These are, as obvious, the AR versions.

They looks so pretty!

I really love the color affects on everyone here, it's so bloody mindblowing to see everyone decked out like this.

I tried to apply the changes you spoke about, like Slud's infamous cheek spike or Eurrid's claws, and I hope I managed at least partially.

Considering they are there, it's already a leap forwards.

Oddly my favorite color scheme of the group of Glutt'. Not sure why.

Color wise? Not really. Then again color is pretty subjective.

Tarriod as blue is a bit of a surprise, but that may just be bad memory, he looks good in it though.

I mean in general.

I read all the bios for the colors more than once, and Tarr was described light blue on his top shell and body, and deep sea blue on the edges of the shell and the legs and joints. I added more shades of blue to give a more lucent and impressive feel.

Not really, what issues there were here are hammered out.

Huh...I don't remember that at all. But it sounds fitting for a self styled hero character, also helps set him apart from his shelled buddy Eurrid. Thinking it over, past-me had a very good idea making him blue. I do rather love the different shades of blue you added in, gives him a bit more depth.

Good to know. I was somehow assaulted by a dreaded sense of failure, and somehow stll am.

I myself believe blue siuts him. Thanks, loking at crabs I saw many different shades of the same colors could be used, so I went mad with the concept XD

Why? Even with your 'failures' it was still extremely close and amazing.

Crabs do have a shocking amount of color in their species. Considering he is somewhat based on the campy super hero known as 'The Tick' the blue is pretty damn perfect on him. Also I have always wanted to see a blue coconut crab. Going mad with an idea is always fun.

Dunno, really, just an impression. I still got a bunch to do, so I'll keep trying. for now I'm glad I somehow got close to your idea of them.

Indeed.

You were close before. I really don't care about the minor details so much as the over all picture and feeling. If something is changed or left out I just consider it part of the artist's style and who can honestly have too many versions of any character? You asked me to be nitpicky and harsh so I was, but that does not mean I didn't like them or you failed in some way.

Okay, sorry, might have over reacted here. It's just, you know, I want to make a job out of interpreting characters as they're meant to be, so i gotta be as precise and stricht as possible. Yet, a speck or two of personal fantasy never hurts.

Personally I prefer to give artists a lot of wiggle room to work their own magic, their own styles and flares, so on and so forth. I feel that this gives the best results and of course keeps them happy. Of course you won't really have a lot of understanding bosses, so consider this training?

I see, and I understand your point of view. My thanks for allowing me this training. You're absolutely correct on that one, sir! XD

Oh yeah, derp.

Speaking of that group. Thanks for your picture of Maggie I had several explosions of muse-fuel about her and with the help of Aks who is the resident fish-nut, she has been further tweaked and perfected. Just wanted to say thanks, I honestly would still be struggling with her if you hadn't taken up the challenge of drawing that shark.

Might I ask what the changes are?

Ravensaurs-Rex In reply to Crystaldemon93 [2013-12-03 00:42:38 +0000 UTC]

Most of them are basically ecological, such as Maggie's long serpent like body and shovel head being perfect for hunting and burrowing in the sand or tight spaces for shelled prey. Her teeth are all blunted and not too affective on flesh, but if given a hard surface they can crunch right through. Aks made a rather interesting observation that metal is kinda rare where she lives so she would want to horde as much as possible between trips to the surface world where it is common. Stashing it in certain hide-holes when not in use. His idea was it sort of floats or hovers around her when she is free swimming, ready to be formed into her armor or used as a shield at any moment. Being the fish-nut Aks is he felt compelled to sketch her in his own style after we batted back and forth some ideas. He didn't quite get the shape of her hammer as well as you did, though it is a different angle then the one you used. Another idea is that she has large white spots on her body, similar to the color scheme of a whale shark if you need a mental picture. Basically these spots are large and rather primitive chromataphores. What they do is help lighten or darken her body so she can blend in with the sand she is burrowing in, similar to how a flounder does minor shifts in it's skin pattern to blend in. In short she is a long bodied shark who specializes in shelled crabs and other prey which often burrow to hide from most predators. We talked about other design featurs, if her front fins should be lobed or just shorter versions of the classic shark fin, the different designs of her dorsal fin and fluke. These didn't go anywhere but it rather energized us.

It was rather hard to tweak her when I didn't have a clear picture of what i really wanted out of Mags or what my base was, but you gave me that and she has been under my muse's watchful eye for a while now.

In this case, mind if I don't color her? I am kinda caught with some other business, so if you don't mind..?

Nah, that's fine.

I am a bit curious as to your views on her evolution though so when you got the time I would love to hear your opinions.

It does indeed make kind of more sense. I have to say this version is way better, shows the extent of her powers, her cunning and her resourcefulness.
