Wow, this is definitely not going to be a controversial opinion(!)

Yeah, I may not like Spider-Man 2017 but I will admit that it’s take on The Superior Spider-Man is a bit better than the comic book version of the same storyline mostly because it was shorter and didn’t have the squick from the comic due to it being a kids show (a poorly written kids show but still) and ending where it needed to end in Season 2 before the entire show goes downhill afterwards.

Spider-Gwen: Spider-Man , don’t freak out but…

Spider-Girl: We think The Goblin King is your friend, Peter Parker.

No, you don’t need to explain/defend the comic because I do understand what the intended purpose of the story was. I get that but it honestly doesn’t work for me. If you want more details as to why that is, check out the latest journal entry by hayley566 .

What’s that? I basically took elements from The Superior Spider-Man for my loose adaptation of the Ends Of The Earth storyline? Yeah, because Ends Of The Earth is one of the few Dan Slott storylines that I actually liked. I might’ve used Otto in a clone body of Peter as The Superior Octopus throughout the story but the main difference between me and the comic is that Peter is still alive as well as on the run from the government with a few of the allies he made throughout his career as Spider-Man in order to find a way to stop Otto and his Superior Seven before he destroys the entire world. Plus, to stop the whole “Peter’s friends can’t find anything wrong with him” plot point that was moronic in the comics, I had his friends and wife ask questions that only Peter would know the answers to because, after May’s funeral, Otto purged his mind of Peter’s memories clouding his mind and that ended up being a very important part of the final battle between the two longtime enemies as Ava was the one to figure out which one was her husband. … God, that was a long paragraph as well as a very basic summary of my eighth Peter Parker storyline, Spider-Man: Ends Of The Earth.

And hey, to those who do like The Superior Spider-Man comics, more power to you. You’re allowed to enjoy whatever you want and I’m not going to judge you for doing so.
