I’ve been doing my fifth reread of wings of fire and I am currently on Moon’s book so, as such, I can add a bit more thought to what I wanna say about her. I really liked drawing this piece and I think Moon has been a character I’ve drawn more since I was working on an animatic with her but I never finished it, perhaps I will at some point because there are some really fun drawing I did for it.

I made her features more softer while keeping her design more broad since she grew up in the rainforest. As well as having her black be a more green hue. I did really enjoy drawing her, and I hope to do some more character art or maybe scene art after I design a lot more of these characters.

Moon is such a sweetheart and I used to find her book more boring, it is still one of my least favourites but moon is up there on my list because of her personality and all her interactions within her friend group and yes I was a Winterwatcher shipper a hundred percent and I hate love triangles with a passion because of how hard it is for me to chose, writer tip, if you ever include a love triangle have a good reason for it and if you are to chose one have it be obvious as it grows as to why, anywho, I will do a bit more of a rant on winter when I post him later, as this post is going up, I do have up to day 9 of this done.

While rereading her book, I can really see the pressure put on moon, and winter definitely didn’t help with that but I enjoyed seeing all the characters personality’s through how they think and it really shows. I think because of that, it’s a great introduction to the second arc, which is still my favourite of the three, and it works so well as an introduction because it introduces the characters by moon listening to them and I like that they aren’t all friends at first and that takes time to really develop them. The only reason I ever found this book boring within the series was because not much happened compared to the previous book, when I was younger this is what I thought. The series now I see is kinda slow at the beginning but I love that it is because it’s slow progressing and focuses and developing characters more.

Anywho, that’s my little rant, for those who enjoy listening, if there are any, but I hope you enjoy this piece and stay inspired!
