Description

"And any kind of animal that sits in the room of the return box and takes the books. Maybe an elephant with a long trunk."

- K.

"I wanted to suggest an elephant. It's allowed to bury books underneath itself. But it has to be a nice, gentle elephant."

- J.

For German Library Day on October 24th, I drew a little series of pictures showing animals in context with using a library - celebrating my wonderful workplace. After the first three images, I called out to my colleagues to make some wishes about what they'd like to see. I mostly stuck with the first one: So we do have that kind of mailbox where one can return media 24/7. I had the elephant sit in there on that really ugly blanket that's laid out on the floor to soften the fall. Moreover, if there's someone to catch books. I didn't really have an idea how to convey the full message into the image ... I still like that elephant though.

Often enough, when someone of the staff goes into that room to empty it, they'll have to pay attention to books that delivered just in that moment. They might fall on their heads ... if one doesn't try to catch them.

Hope it lightens up your day.

Have a great time!
