Really? I never saw the point in giving a character wings if it cant fly. Unless the wings are damaged at some point.

Don't know any others right now, sorry. A hypothetical example would be a fat dragon incapable of flying. Its wings can't lift it so they help cool it down.

Sort of. I'm more talking about dragons that evolve to the point of being unable to fly with their wings and give them another purpose. Sort of like human tailbones, maybe.

Some flightless birds do. They can also run faster by flapping their wings. And ofcourse also display purposes.

i'm not so sure either, but regardless she's still a pretty powerful Skylander. Besides, Flight isn't really that special, any Skylanders who do just merely float above the ground slightly which enables them to use new moves. nothing i take advantage of except that the Skylanders who fly become slightly faster

Funny thing is, Skylanders CAN jump in the 3DS version(Dunno if they could jump in the 3DS version of Spyro's Adventure, but they could jump in the 3DS version of Giants)

The gems on the wings store a large density of the magical aura from the world. It is then translated into a simple localized levitation spell that allows for flight.
...But really, I've never played Skylanders. Just an assumption. >.>

Actually Flashwing CAN'T fly. She's one of two dragon type Skylanders who have wings but can't fly. (Sunburn's the other in case you're wondering.)

It's been theorized that Flashwing was at one point a star, since she fell from the heavens and all that, the wings act as a represtentation of that remainder of her past. Plus if you look at her from the right angle she still kind of looks like a star.
