I've always been a fan of the Israeli meta human team know as The Hayoth (Ramban, Golem, Judith) who first appeared in the pages of The Suicide Squad and would later be seen in The Specter and Checkmate in the old DCU. But more recently I've been getting into the Ragman character since having read some stuff with him (Ragman Suite of Souls one shot and Day of Vengeance #1) I've found in back issue discount boxes. DC has other Jewish superheros like Atom Smasher and Batgirl but what I liked about these particular characters is that their powers and identity as heroes centers around Jewish folklore and mysticism.For origin info on The Hoyath

last weekend i found a few Shadowpact issues in a $1 back issue box. in one of the issues Shadowpact battled Etrigan the demon in which Ragman was powerless against. it turned out that the captured souls in his suite refused to fight against Etrigan because they were scared of him. i thought that was interesting.

That's awesome, I have a few older batman detective comics that have ragman in it. I also love the fact that he is one of the few Jewish comic book heroes in DC.

yeah i've seen some of those Ragman appearances in old Batman issues on line the Ragman blog site has a lot of that stuff. it's good to read the older stuff for sure but i think he should add some contemporary Ragman content from the Shadowpact series. issue 8 is basically a Ragman feature story in which we get to see the release of a soul that's fully atoned for it's past and hence forth moves on to a better after life then being trap in the Ragman suite.

and thank you for swinging by. if you're talking about any published work derived from the cartoon series then it's most definitely no, not at all a fan of that show. although as i understand it has a nice Hanukkah themed story so despite the terrible art style if i saw it in a back issue discount box i would probably pick it up. i found the Ragman one shot Suit of Souls for just a buck a couple of months ago which is what really got me into the character and i more recently found Day of Vengeance #1 for just fifty cents which featured Ragman prominently that was a great bargain to.

Nice! I remember the Hayoth from a few SS issues I have. Unfairly the Jihad got a Who's who entry but they didn't. Is Golem the same character that showed up later in Primal Force? I'll have to look that up. They never got much play, but you know I love my obscure characters. Ragman, another great character. Entertaining and awesome work as always.
