I really wish Sal Buscema instead of steve ditko would have penciled ROM 65. Just about half the heroes in the Marvel Universe appeared in the issue including The Mighty Avengers with some of them even featured on the cover (Captain America, Tigra and Iron Man). I seem to have a case of Comic Book Fever for the 80s which is what got me feeling creative all of a sudden hence this sketch card. Good stuff as usual Csuh,Β but did you see the IDW cover for ROM?Β shows him in his original armor skimming the waves of an ocean,Β envokes the spirit of the original!

IDW has dozens of cover variants but that one doesn't ring a bell. Not exactly following the new series in any way when IDW decided to give him the design as seen in the interior art that just killed all for me.

Absolutely, the cover art on the zero issue which was our first look at ROM ended up being pretty misleading.

for damn sure.... i don't mind seeing a new iron man version every second week... but ROM was awesome as was. i was wondering if they had rights to that Marvel design or does Marvel own the rights to how ROM and the Dire Wraiths looked.

Hey Alex, that's a fantastic piece considering how small the size is, well done!
You know I disagree in regards to Ditko, but I'll admit Sal is the definite Rom artist and would have drawn amazingly issue 65.

oh that's right i keep forgetting you're something of a ditko fan. well i'm glad we can still agree on Sal and ofcourse our politics. this is the 4th sketch card i've done now i'm starting to get a little collection going. check out the blog to by the way there's something cool that Gary bought recently.
