One of my favorite movies is Ed Wood,Tim Burton's 1994 biopic about legendary 1950's B-movie filmmaker Edward D. Wood,Jr. Not only is it entertaining,but the world of low-budget cinema has always held a certain fascination for me,so it follows that movies on the subject....like Matinee,Baadasssss!! and And God Spoke,to name a few....are favorites of mine.
Perhaps someday such a movie will be made,but back in the 90's,I really wanted someone to make a biopic about another low-budget director,Ray Dennis Steckler....I won't bother with a thumbnail bio,as one can find out all about him elsewhere on the net...and I then envisioned Nicolas Cage in the role; not only did he bear a strong resemblance to the young Steckler,I think the manic style he's displayed in several of his films would've captured him perfectly....
