Obviously,the title derives from former FCC chairman Newton N. Minow's iconic 1961 speech about how perhaps the medium,or at least the American commercial version of it,wasn't as great as we thought it was.

I'm not claiming any intellectual superiority here,certainly not someone too embarrassed to admit they once were a fan of Hello Larry.

For the actual image on the screens,it was necessary to pick a show....there's been a lotta shows I've despised,but I have a special dislike of Married...With Children. It effectively killed the family sitcom.

Trivia: One person who particularly hated Minow's speech was TV producer Sherwood Schwartz,creator of Gilligan's Island...now you know where he got the name for the boat!
