Description
Just imagining what a Haunted Mansion Colorforms set might look like.....I was expecting to make this a passage memorializing what I assumed was a now-defunct toy...one of my favorites when I was a kid,it's been decades since I've seen a commercial for one,or seen one in a toystore. In an era where kids use computers and similar hand-held devices for amusement,I concluded that such a relatively simple plaything had joined the Thingmaker and the Uncle Wiggly Game in the annals of toys that no longer exist.
I searched the net to find out when whoever owned them chose to cease production...imagine my surprise when I discovered they still exist...in fact, they have their own webpage...and yes,it's for current and brand-new sets.

Well, they did make a "Castle Dracula" one, and now there's a "Frozen" one (I want!! ) so maybe a "Haunted Mansion" one is possible.

I had a "Castle Dracula"...I remember it was a cutaway view of three floors in a haunted house, and each had doors you could open and stick one in...like a mummy case, and there was a mummy sticker.

I remember another toy I had when I was young; it was this cardbord book that when opened turned into a 3D structure, kind of like a pop-book, but there were several rooms and doors between them that you could move little figures around through. I remeber haveing two; a forest treehouse, and a haunted castle.

This is wonderful! I have to admit I had completely forgotten about Colorforms, even though I loved them as a child growing up in the fifties. When I saw this, I could just imagine my Colorforms toys and could even "smell" them, since they had such a distinctive smell. Thank you for the walk down memory lane!
