Description
After watching Bobby Chiu's video on drawing human profiles, I decided to give it a shot; the superhero I chose to depict is the Old Soldier, from Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross's superhero anthology series Astro City.

The character is supposedly immortal, reappearing in every major conflict in human history going back centuries, to fight on the "right" side, depending on the circumstances. I liked the idea of drawing a powerful yet aged face, and contrasting it with the character's head bandages, his chain-mail armor and the tattered American flag he wears like a banner.
