From Astro City comics....two of its supervillains. While these two never teamed up in any story,and their styles are vastly different,they're both of advanced age and are hi-tech geniuses.

The guy on the left is the Junkman (seen in Astro City Vol.3,Family Album,in the story "Show 'Em All") ....real name Hiram Potterstone. Not just a mechanical genius,he can take cast-off items and turn them into useful tools,even dangerous weapons. At one time a top inventor,he was fired from his job at a technological company when he reached his sixties,despite his protests and claims that he still had many new ideas. His attempts to get similar work elsewhere eventually led to nothing,because no one could see past his age. In his bitterness,he turned to crime. His crowning achievement came when he robbed the Astro City bank of billions without leaving a single trace. Halfway around the world with his stolen money,he soon realized he wanted people to know of his brilliant crime and his pride brought him back home. He tangled with several superheroes,eventually getting captured. At his trial begins,we learn that he had the foresight to install hidden technology to help him make his escape.
The woman is Vivi Viktor (seen prominently in Astro City Vol. 11, Private Lives,in the story "Friends And Relations") ....real name Vivian Vincentia Viktor. Apparently in the supervillainy game longer than the Junkman,she lost her family at a young age,killed by the FBI. While studying robotics in college,she had already begun planning to use her intelligence for her own purposes. She even went so far as to "steal" brain power from equally brilliant fellow student Eleanor "Ellie" Jennersen....the process affected her,and in her autumn years, Ellie eventually ran an out-of-the-way roadside museum of discarded supervillain robots,all of which she made operational again,but without any of the destructive tendencies put there by their former owners. Vivi Viktor tricked Ellie's nephew into providing her with stolen technology from the robots,but was eventually caught by the superhero group Honor Guard....with Ellie's help.
