Description
Um... so I actually made this one in about an hour in an apple store haha...As much as I ridiculed the mac over the years, I'm actually now debating on getting one. Don't hate me!!!
I made this on a 27" iMac with an i7 Core. Experienced minor chugging when pushing multiple large shaped Gaussian blurs. Sure beats my current pc though! It also only had 4GB of RAM, I'd at least up it to 8.
This was really fun to make because of all the people in the store watching. Some passersby would go "awwww" and others would scream "RAINBOWS!" Fortunately I was able to email a copy to myself right from the store.

Don't do it! Don't give in to the machine!
I really don't like them, the only advantage I can see is iMovie.

It looks flashy... and gleamy... but I don't like this art very much. The motive is cool (except the drooling ) but I think traditional art would fit better... oil on canvas maybe... like the Scribe. Or the old way you make your art... without all this gleamy thingies, and so... I hope you understand my crappy way to put my german mind into english words

Haha, its all good! Thanks for the input! It's not my usual way of creating something either, I'm not used to publicly making a piece in front of people, so part of the bubbly gleaming was experimentation with using a mac and general crowd pleasing. I just tossed something together right there and had no story to go by so I made something that was quick and easy to perfom
I hope that makes sense. I do like how it turned out especially in the amount of time to create something. But I agree very flashy compared to my other art.
Thanks Katsu!

Yeah, I'm getting mighty speedy, but this one was fairly easy to, nothing super complex.

Complexity is so over-rated.

Macs suck, I haven't used one since the 90s after getting fed up with them, but this picture is typically awesome.

Same, that last apple my family owned was an old Apple 2e haha. Spool fed printer and double floppy drive Haha.
I did use them in school for certain classes but I always preferred PC. Other than social stigmas and blatant hatred towards them, I'm trying to put the past aside and see what they have to offer. The 27" all in one iMac is a beautiful machine and I feel inspired to work just looking at it.
It'll be difficult (and OMG expensive) to make a switch, but if it beats rebuilding or buying a new PC every 2 years it might be worth it.

Admittedly, Macs have improved... and the ability now to dual-boot Windows on them is a nice touch if you do want to do things on them that are incompatible with the Mac OS; I'm a gamer, and it was the incompatibility aspect first and foremost that drove me away from Macs towards Windows.
The thing is, Macs are still more a fashion accessory to me. They're beautiful, but they're overpriced like nobody's business, and I find the marketing behind them (don't look evil, don't support Microsoft) somewhat offensive.
I should point out that Macs need upgrading or replacing at about the same rate at PCs, and it's a damned sight more expensive to do that with a Mac. They're not better built or designed to last longer, so I'm not entirely sure where you got that idea from... there's a new iMac or MacBook model out every year. The operating system is a little more reliable than Windows, that's about it, but it also does less, so there's a trade-off. If you wanted it for music editing, upgrading wouldn't be such an issue, but I'm guessing you'd want to do graphics on it, and that means getting the newer models with the superior processing power and graphics chipset every other year or so, same as with a PC.
