Description I hate wasps, ever since i got stung by one on the back of the neck, i've waged war against them. However the war took a turn today, which im not entirely proud of. I used chemical warfare to neutralise this beast and as it was laying there writhing in agony, I felt quite ashamed of what I did. So next time I kill one, I'll revert back to using conventional methods (fire, newspapers and flat objects).

Cheers. I never did anything to that wasp that stung me on the back of my head and other than the occasional fly, they're the only things I kill. I always go out of my way to rescue bee's and butterflies

Stupid wasps...

I was stung just below my left eye... :S
It could have been fatal formy eye if it hit a few millimetres higher.

I usually let them fly away with time, but if they're coming after me, snap!

what a wonderful macro.. we are used to seeing such of animals livng, but not so much like this! its also a great message on mortality and what death and destruction we mete out on our fellow 'creepy crawlies'! well done!

i hate killing things too.. i have the same things with spiders (got bit by a black widow a few years back!) i cant stand the little beasties! but i hate killing them, i have a hard time killing flies too.. i mean, yeah gross disguesting an all.. but just livin their lives, trying to make it thru like the rest of us. i guess it really hit home when i read the poem:

little fly thy smmuer's play
my thoughless hand has brushed away
for am i not a fly like thee
and are you not a man like me
for i dane and buzz and sing
till some other, greater hand
brushes my wing

I also hate black widows although im not to bothered by other spiders as much. When I was out in the states one crawled across the ceiling when I was in bed (didnt sleep that night), and the son of the folks I was stayin with was about to jump on an inflatable toy in the pool, when I noticed a black widow sitting in the middle of it, and I grabbed him just in time.
I have to admit wasps are the only things I kill without prejudice, I just hate them end of story, but everything else I leave alone apart from the occasional fly. I was just a little shook up about using chemical weapons, especially watching it convulse in what I assume was pain afterwards I like the poem though

zoiks! i found one in the celing in the shower of the cabin i was staying in near yellowstone.. i asked my mom and dad if they saw it.. (they were over for a trip here) and they both said, oh yeah, that black thing?

when i told them, they freaked out! then that night they heard rustling in the grass outside their window.. they thought it could have been a bear.. LOL. it was prbly some cows! (jusdging from the 'messages' they leaft in the grass.

ive heard you say a couple times youve been over to the states.. whereabouts and when? (if you dont mind me askin)

yeah, death by chemicals is no-no and to get to watch something suffering is the shits too. yeah, that little poem has saved many a fly's life in my house.. im the idiot opening windows and trying to shoo the damn things out!

I've been over to Fresno, CA, a couple of times, once on my own and once with my brother a few years back. When I was there we went to San Diego, San Francisco, L.A, Yosemite and probably a few other places. I loved it

wow.. fresno! actually i know it quite well. im presuming you must know someone there.. its not the usual destination for sunseekers and holiday folks! san diego is a nice place, the dallas of the west. san fran is a favorite getaway too as its just an hour on the plane for me. i am 7 hours north of vegas and 6 hours south of yellowstone

Yer, we know people over there who moved from switzerland a while back. I like it. Funny how small the world is, whenever I was in France last year for the DDay anniversary, I was talking to a US Paratrooper and he was from Fresno, so we got talking about the edwards cinema complex there and stuff, it was quite funny. I loved San Francisco, so much character and so beautiful and Yosemite was just sublime you're quite lucky having all that to reach

yup, i am.. ive tried hard never to take it for granted. my state has 7 national parks and about 30 state parks in it. we have red rock deserts, salt flat deserts and coral pink sand dunes! alpine mountains and tons of snow in the winter (up here in the north) and a lake thats 7 times saltier than the dead sea.

im glad youve been out here.. its an amazing world. and england is amazing in its own right too.. there are still things i fly all the way home to just see, places to go and experience again.
