Was thinking about what it'd look like if I tried to do Mango's story with the same feel, but without the kirby hooks. I tried other colors but I'm hooked on the yellow+pink thing. It might still be too similar but ehhh so is jigglypuff. Thought experiment ovar!?Related content

Nice severing of the Kirby links - Just with this picture to go on, I wouldn't have guessed that the idea was Kirby-inspired.

Mayhaps the weater changes colors when she steals something's powers, or even flat out changes to resemble that something? Like, once it eats the fire guy, it turns all fire-y, and Mango gets fire powers! o3o Or something.

I was unaware of your Kirby tie-in and I spotted slight similarity. Kirby did come to mind but it wasn't forefront, I think it only draws a connection if you actually know Kirby.

I'd say play around with it a little more if it still feels too similar, but keep the imagination going! Eventually you'll be able to twist something up that'll feel totally original :3

Wow. I think I like this design more than the original, definitely doesn't give off anywhere near as much as a kirby feel, only the pink KIND OF does. I don't know if I would have made the connection had I not already have read about Mango.
If you could throw this design of mango into a story it would be awesome.

I think this version is more eye catching. It's a bit creepy but still charming and cool at the same time. I'm afraid to see how she would behave when feeling an extreme hunger.

Am i correct when i assume that you didn't continue Mago IDL because you were using registered characters, and so the day you drew this you had nostalgia about your character and thought of a way to make her entirely original so that you could actually use her without feeling persecuted by evil nintendo?
