Kay, this pic requires some explanation."Magic Pengel: the Quest for Color" is a game made by Studio Gibli where you draw creatures to battle with. If the battle system was better and the game was longer, this game could be huge. As is, it's just something cute and fun to mess around with XD
The entire game is in 1st person view so you never see yourself, so here's what I imagine I look like (note the glasses and scarf and the usual stuff
) along with one of the doodles (that's what you call drawn creatures) I always use, Crabby the crab with a palm tree on its head. I tried to make the style look more like the game, which is why it's all lineless and stuff. The flats were done in illustrator and the shading was done in photoshop 'cause it's alot easier. (atleast while I don't understand masks in illustrator)
Sorry for the longness! it is late and I'm feeling long-winded.

i have that game! it's so fun! at a certain point i just stopped doing the random battles and just made the doodles. i don't think i ever finished the game.

Magic Pengel! One of the greatest games of all time! And by the way, it was Taito that made it.
I want to play the sequel, Graffiti Kingdom.
(Did you beat the game with Crabby? I don't think it's possible... Considering Mono's abilities...)

the wiki page only mentions the people who translated it... but I know some site mentioned it was either made by studio ghibli or a differently-named videogame company that they made. In any case I'm pretty sure they were involved! ( x 0 x)/ The characters look that way too.

Hehe, I really enjoyed Magic Pengel. Never got around to trying its sequel though, anyways, great job capturing the feel of the game, and now I must make a crab with a palm tree on its head. It is a must.

I heard about this game! :0 I was super-excited for it, but then I never heard anything about it again, so I assumed they either canceled it or it flopped or something.

I remember that game, had it a while back, but I loved the creativity it offered. I kept trying to draw that dog that was in the game on the loading screens, the white one (never got it right >< )
