My entry for round 2 of the Miss SDL thingy. We were told to draw our char in a bathing suit of some sort with the theme of "making a splash." So here's Pokapon trying to cheer up Hanabi by being silly.I really felt like making something more calm and muted after such a stressful few weeks ;; It's almost over, dangit! Must hang on!
I actually really like how the textures and colors turned out. Whatcha guys think of this kinda feel compared to the usual? Hanabi's suit is based on some of those ol' swimsuits from the 30s or whenever xD I hope the judges forgive me for it not being very beachy >.>; well, got the last RB round to think about anyway! *runs off*

I love it! I also love the turn you took by putting her in a pond rather than a beach. Those beach episodes in anime are annoying, so having Hanabi in a pond was an awesome idea.
Besides, this suits her character a lot more than any beach would. It also suits Pokapon a lot more too. Who's ever heard of a forest creature going to the beach? XD
The grass is awesome, and the effect of the lily pads under the water is very realistic. This is by far my favourite Hanabi picture. *fav*

Just a little thing: A bigger splash and some kind of reaction by Hanabi (a flinch or something) would make the picture a lot more interesting.

this is adorable, melon. it's a surefire hit, the judges will love it. and it's so hanabi. the muted palette and cool colours you used are lovely.

xD And I love Hanabi's outfit, xD And the textures are cute, they add a very nice touch to it. I mean seriously...how more original could this get? xD Pond, lake, whatever, weird yet absolutely adorable 30's swimsuit, and pokapon...being cute, xD Yeah.
