Description
For 's contest [link] The theme is couples and duos, so I immediately wanted to design something for a wedding! But I'm dreadful at menswear (don't think I'm close enough to men to know how they should dress), so instead of doing man and wife, I went with LESBIANS!!!!!!! Sort of. The designs are inspired by Christian Dior, who I've been researching for my extended essay and who was great at mixing feminine and masculine. The design on the left is supposed to be a traditional wedding dress, but I wanted to shorten it and add a tuxedo jacket so it would be less Cinderella-y. Oh, and I love shorter veils.
The one on the right is supposed to be the tuxedo, though I wanted to make it more cocktail-y, so I went for a black dress. The "tuxedo tails" turn into a sort of train and are connected to the shrug.
Neither of these people particularly look like they're getting married, and I think I strayed too much from the original intention of the contest (they look too random--I need to learn to make things more cohesive!) You're allowed 3 entries, though, so I might make something else that works better.
