Description
On the way to art class one day, my friend and I found a leaf bug (it wasn't that hard; leaf bugs don't blend on the sidewalk). I grabbed a coffee pot and a lid to a pot and used it to catch him. I then sketched him inside the coffee pot. We named him Waldo. While sketching, a fire alarm went off. Deciding that it would be a good time to let Waldo go, I took the coffee pot with me. When I tried letting him go, though, HE WOULDN'T LEAVE. I had to get to pull him out and set him on the ground.
Then Waldo FLEW AWAY.
WHY DIDN'T HE TRY FLYING AWAY WHEN I CAUGHT HIM?
My friend and I have often seen Waldo again around school (all leaf bugs are now Waldo). He was doing a bit better at camouflaging: he hid in the grooves of the wall. But today, he was hiding on the glass. . .
Maybe one day, all the leaf bugs and stick bugs will combine to form a tree.
