Paper Mario: The Paradoxal Darkness. Prologue: Hard times in front of Dark.

Let me tell you the story. About the 'Light Crystals'. The seven shiny crystals gathered together on a golden plate can drive away the 'Darkness' from this world. Not the darkness that you see every night, No! But the darkness that is allowing people to betray, to kill, to lie, to steal. That darkness was spreading from man to man, and now lives in almost everyone. Once being a dark's victim, a new one is born inside of you.
"That's enough for today, Toadsworth."
"Alright, your highness, good night..."

-20 Years later-
"Ah, another friendly morning. No kidnapping and stuff." Said the Princess quietly waking up.
"Not for so long."
"Who was that?" She screamed out in surprise.
"Nobody. You'll see soon."
(Then the guards crying can be heard as a bunch of Shy Guys stormed inside taking the princess away.)
"Put me down! Put me DOOOWN!!!!!"

"W-where am I?"
"This is Shyster City. A nice town, isn't it?"
"Who. Are. You?"
"I am sorry, I can't reveal myself to you."
"Then what is your name?"
"Call me Maggark."
"Maggark? Can you please find a man named Mario?"
"I-i'm sorry. I can't be seen by anyone."
"Then can you deliver a letter without being seen?"
"Um... Yes I think."

(At Mario's house)
"Mail Call!!!!!" The sound was heard, but the postman was not seen at all.
"Hey bro! We've got a letter from Peach" Luigi shouted.

Dear Mario.
I was kidnapped by a bunch of
Shy Guys. And now trapped at
the beach beyond Shyster city.
If you're not busy, can you
please help me to get out of here.

"Wow. I never thought such a place exists."
"Well, anyway. You should head to the castle. Maybe then you'll find out how did she end up there."

(Mario jumps into the pipe outside of the house, suddenly appearing in front of the castle.)
(From now on you finally control Mario. Enter the main door and meet Toadsworth.)
"Oh... Master Mario... You know, a bunch of Shy guys took the Princess away this morning."
"What? You want to look up her room? Fine. If you don't break anything, come upstairs with me."
They reach the highest room of the castle, which is, of course, Princess' room.
(Then the guards crying can be heard as a bunch of Shy Guys stormed inside taking Mario away.)

Waking up, You find yourself in a small town with six houses: three on the left and three on the right.
In the close left house lives a Shy guy family.
The middle left house is an Item shop.
The Far left is an empty house with a small chest with a hammer inside it.
The Far right house is an INN
The middle right is a closed house
Once you go to the close right house, you meet a Green Shy Guy, who introduces himself as Shyness and Gives you a Shytoken and now you can talk to shy guys instead of:
"..."
"So you're lookin' for some Princess. I guess you'll need some help from Bal. He's famous for being the Shy guy, who never cries."
When you come out of the house, you see a Sombrero guy being kicked out of the House. (The one that was closed.)
If you go ask him he tells you through the tears:
"There is no a Shy guy, who never cries!!!!!"
Then Mario goes straight and breaks the block that blocks his way

(Heading to the beach, you fight simple enemies: Shy guys, Goombas, Koopas)
When arriving you see a giant cage around the Princess. And all of sudden a shady figure appears.
"And who might you be? Such little fashion sense. Such little magic spirit., wah hah hah!!!"
"Why you!!!" Peach cried out.
"Anyway... The name of me is Espectro!!! I am the most entertaining magic wizard!!! wahahahah"
"The -It- Would get back to existing, and destroying whole this civil beinging" "And you look like you would just get in -its- way"

"Overpowered? Oh no, no. YOU will be consuming yourself, overpowering the being of you!!"
Flees
"Weird guy..." "Mario!!!"
"I saw some Shyster holding the key. Take this medal to beat him. It lets you do action command"

Back at the town. You go talk to the crying guy again.
"The cage? The key? Why am I crying?"
"Well *sniff* My brother fell in love and *sniff* kicked me out of the house."
"I have nowhere to live! I... Hey! aren't you an adventurer?"
Mario nodded.
"Can I come? Please, can I come with you?"
If Yes:
"Yes!!! Guess we're friends now."
If No:
"Oh... Fine *sniff* Come back if you change your mind."

The nevercrying Shy guy, Ballade Guy, Joined your party.
Bal's Abilities: A primer.
Press A for Bal to describe the surrounding area.
In battle use his Guitar move to send shockwaves at enemies.
Or use his Sing to show enemies HP, attack and defense.

Bal quickly knocked into his house's door, as an angry face came out.
"Ah! Bal! Don't even try to get back again!"
"We're not here for that! Give me that key you're holding"
"So that's what you need. Try to take it from me."

Tattle: Yeah, that's my bro. It's not what you think,
he was a nice person. Max HP: 5, Attack: 1, Defense: 0

Once you get the key, you go back to the Big cage.
When Peach's free Bal's Bro and his Bride are coming to get them.
(Also to notice they were wielding the golden plate.)

"That's right Darling. Let's go get them."
