Description I spoke to a series of people within the "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" fandom about what they find 'sexy' about the show and their attitudes towards the fandom's erotica. Here are some of their responses.

Yeeeeaaaa ponies can be sexy, tho I still appose the idea of explicit sexual depictions; not limited to ponies at all, I hate that with anyone, human or pony.

There are respectful ways and disrespectful ways to depict sexy ponies. Sauce and some suggestion, not a problem, R34 and cropped of that, sick. Mind you, I'm the guy who doesn't approve of porn of any type, so ponies aren't really a factor in this for me; I hate it all. Don't hate the people, just feel sad about it.

Not really interested in arguing about it, explaining myself, sure, I'd love that, but please don't get hostile toward me if you do reply.Β

I'd love to, tho not here really...

Do keep in mind, I'm not trying to change anyone's mind really, just sharing my thoughts. All to often people think I'm trying to manipulate them and end up descending into insults and personal attacks at me, and forever have a negative opinion of me, which kinda hurts because it was all communication. Skype? If you want to note me, or... we could just commune via notes, but it's not a simple topic for me, unless I can talk and clarify in real time, most people write me off as black or white opinion on the general idea of sexual stuff.

Aaaaanyways, Skype is best for me, but whatever works for ya.

So was this collection of interviews made to make fun of the people with a sexual attraction to this cartoon? Because if it was, then that flies directly in the face of journalistic integrity.Β

Cuddlepug In reply to Rainb0wDashie [2014-09-28 17:16:32 +0000 UTC]

If people want to make fun of them that's their prerogative. The document passes no judgement either way.

I don't know, there seems to be a lot of bias, albeit rather hidden.Β

The title is clickbait and generalizes the entire fandom. It's not what all bronies find sexy, as implied by your title, it's a select few you interviewed who were open about their sexual interests. Then there are the accompanying pictures with the melting faces, which gives off the impression that what these bronies are talking about are somehow abhorrent or disgusting. It's the juxtaposition of the images with the comments that creates this assumption.Β

Plus there was no rhyme or reason to this being posted. it was just "I interviewed some cloppers, here are their responses" with no clarifications as to WHY you posted this interview, which also creates the assumption that you did it just to get others to laugh at them and call them freaks, because you don't seem to be telling those who are doing that not to in this comment section, and are even egging a clopper on asking him how much porn he looks at in a week.Β

From a journalistic standpoint, this is very shameful, negative, and biased. And I'd advise any brony reading this not to talk to you for future interviews as you might juxtapose their responses with another off putting image to make it seem like what they have to say isn't normal and they should be avoided.Β

If you're questioning why I uploaded this, take a look at my gallery - that's what I do. I speak to people within the fandom and then, with their permission, use their answers to put together opinion pieces, interviews, personal accounts and so on.

The 'clopper', as you label them - QwixLochflow - said, in their own words, 'I enjoy MLP porn, know my preferences, and will candidly speak about it to anyone who cares to ask'. So I'm asking a question, in an objective manner, to which I should hope they will 'candidly' reply.

You do rather seem to be making a lot of straw assumptions. You think I'm 'egging' someone on when I'm asking a simple question; you think I've posted this to make people laugh at these people, despite me having spoken to them at length, got their permission to host this content and passing little to no judgement in the process.

Where is your journalistic skillset, I wonder?

Well I plainly stated that my claims were just that, assumptions on a face level. I didn't know what you do, all I knew was I stumbled upon this post, saw the off-putting images juxtaposed with the personal stories, and saw some questionable comments in the description.Β

I knew I didn't have all the answers which is why I made it a point to not sound too accusatory.Β

Not a fan of pony porn myself, but it is interesting to know why others find it appealing, though it's a little weird to me.

I do have to say, though the one who commented about the animators having shots that are 'provocative' is also complete nonsense to me. Β

QwixLochflow In reply to ??? [2014-09-28 17:00:45 +0000 UTC]

I find it a bit of delicious irony that shipping and imaginary relationships occur in nearly if not all forms of animated series, yet MLP gets the most flak for it because these are, in essence, animals.

Also, the gender skew towards female within the cast offers a unique base that the furry community at large can't quite replicate. Considering the sizable male portion of this fanbase, it was practically an unavoidable outcome when Hasbro decided to market it to a wider audience.Β MLP is a in-between for the gay-bashing hatedom and anti-furry hatedom, something I think can't be easily recreated.

Another bit of irony is that the show's general collective of positive messages may bite back as a catalyst for the gay-bashing side, as I don't think all of America (and certain parts of the world) can dis-equate the show's visual front and premise from feminine. These values aren't inherentlyΒ feminine, but it may be that the values aren't explicitly masculine as dictated by American culture that they are subsequently labeled feminine.

This is realm of porn is in part a testament to the show's general well-written characters. There are several animes I could point to that rely more on a character or environment's physical appearance to hide character flaws or general plot holes. With MLP, the characters have been developed to the point of feeling less of a collection of lines and more of a name, something approaching real life. I can easily visualize any of the M6, hear their voice without watching the show, and know what they would do in a given situation. They are relatable;Β the several years has certainly helped develop that.

At this point, human nature takes over. We are beings of sex, a base drive of humanity, so there was never any stopping the occurrence of porn within any fandom, least of all this one.

I myself freely admit to being a brony. I enjoy MLP porn, know my preferences, and will candidly speak about it to anyone who cares to ask. 'Ruth' in particular hits the point I'm trying to make, as well as the point about MLP having great artists (of an unmatched swath of fields for fandoms) within the fandom. Sonic, as far as what I've seen, seems to harbor a particularly large batch of novice artists, yet a flourishing music-making fandom.

MLP is great because of that. I've seen amazing artists, musicians, plush-makers; metal and wood workers; poetry and fanfiction writers; even cooks and animators. All within this one fandom, which not one other fandom even comes close to having.

So the quality of porn art is hardly a big deal in the end. The endless swath of creativity here offsets the to-be-expected anyways.

QwixLochflow In reply to Cuddlepug [2014-09-28 17:27:56 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't say I explicitly go out looking for it, but it does account for a representable percentage of my β‰ˆ4GB of MLP art on my computer. I get around 800-1000 artworks in my dA inbox, 99% of which is MLP art; out of that, I might see 30-50 images that could be considered pornographic, and I might grab 5-10 of that on a fast day.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Cuddlepug In reply to QwixLochflow [2014-09-28 17:34:40 +0000 UTC]

That's quite a considerable amount of content. Would you say you have a preference in terms of which character you have artwork of, or does it vary based on themes etc.?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

QwixLochflow In reply to Cuddlepug [2014-09-28 18:07:39 +0000 UTC]

I keep my art organized by character, number of characters, certain formats such as comics and "plz" account images, as well as keep a running total for each single character folder (which is approximately 88 characters with a minimum of 5 pictures per folder). To be expected, the M6 all occupy spots in the top 15 in terms of picture amount, but there isn't a larger portion of porn within those folders.

Rather, certain characters seem subject to a higher amount of porn art. Cheerilee, Nurse Redheart, and Button Mash's mom (Elaine/Milano; I'm not certain on the 'official' name) in particular have 25-40 each, but more than half of each are comprised of pornographic images. Others around the same benchmark might have around 1/10 of porn art as a percentage. By comparison, my Top 5 have totals of 235-209 (Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Twilight, Luna, Fluttershy), while the next 5 spots down range from 199-164 (Vinyl, Trixie, Lyra, Octavia, Derpy), but the bottom 30 spots only range from 5-20 pictures.

The nature of those character's occupations being frequently sexualized aside, it's my observation that porn art is generated quickly for every character, regardless of popularity. When there is higher popularity and prominence of a character within the fandom, it seems to fix the general percentage of porn art to a number, which is then overtaken by more flattering art. Hence why there is innumerable amounts of art in general for the M6.

There is certainly a high average percentage of porn art involving two or more characters, naturally. I have several dedicated folders for character ships, including every pair you could conceive between any two of the M6 (not directly including Spike, though he has two pair folders) as well as Pinkie with Pinkamena. Maybe 1/5 pictures I have in all my pair folders is more than just direct shipping.

Anthro doesn't have a separate folder for any character(s), but much of the anthro art I do have can easily be classed as of mature content. Perhaps an unconscious groupthink towards sex with ponies; when they have human bodies, it seems to be easier to imagine intercourse with them and/or less of an objection. The imagined act becomes 1:1 the same as occurs in any anime fandom.

The porn art seems to be inflicted on all characters, but canon (or fanon) personality development serves as a seed for the fandom to build off of and away from porn art. I think that's the nature of porn art.

Can you tell me why do you feel the need to tell anyone that you jack off to cartoon horses? Even online? Do you also tell your family, friends,Β acquaintances etc etc about your fetish?

I mean, I sometimes watch stuff that is, well, "weird"... I wouldnt tell anyone what kind of porn I watch, why would I? Nobody needs to know that

I dont understand why bronies and furries always tell the whole world that they have a disgusting fetish. They think of it as a sexual orientation of some sort? They feel they have to "come out of the closet" like gays and tell everyone how much they, uh... love animals (without being into actual beastiality... well at least most of them arent I hope) Its not something you need to tell anyone unless you want people cringing at you and calling you a degenerate (which you are if you openly talk about fucking cartoon characters or if you talk about any "weird" fetish at all, this goes for anything not just pony/furry stuff)

It was on topic with the above article of which you replied to a very old comment from a user I now find repellant.

"We" tell the world because there are those like you who will complain about it whether we say anything about it out not. It is, in fact, the nature of the suppressed to fight against it. Does a spring not uncoil when it is freed? So we say it. We release ourselves from ourselves, a prison of fear that society constructs.

I would suggest you spend less time complaining about people you can't change, phenomena you can't control, and ideas you don't like.

Oh, and one last word of advice. "They" are not just that. Use of "they" means you're already broadcasted yourself as phobic of your target. And fear makes you easy to manipulate.

That is why I choose to say it at least. I refuse to be afraid of that which cannot harm me.

I'm fine with cloppers and pony porn...but ponies don't really enjoy getting dominated, there is discrimination in the fandom, #3 thinks that women being sexual objects is feminism, #5 thinks that nice character = great character to put in a sex scene, and I don't know about #6.

I only find characters sexy when they're humans...
