Wait, some of the creators of the show have commissioned pony porn from these artists, and deliberately put in provocative angles during the show for such fans? No fucking way!
And "Milton" got a date from a presumably well written MLP fan fiction? WTF?!

stumbled onto thisthing again, very interesting. as a psycology student i can tell ya some interesting things appear to be going on here, very different for each one. two things come to mind, both in reguards to the title, one, this only applies to the faction known as 'cloppers', and two, why the "bound + gagged" part?

I took an introductory Psychology class and it was nothing but tongue-in-cheek. All of their "facts" were just generalizations based on survey data. I got questions wrong on tests because I knew there was no 1 answer to them, yet the "scientists" believed themselves right enough to put it down as fact.
Psychology is just a bunch of creeps thinking they can understand us without getting to know us first, and as a field it will only thrive when our brains are replaced with machines, or we're all lobotomized; because that's what it will take for their "facts" to become true.
That said; I am open to hearing others opinions on matters like this, but when they say "I'm a Psychologist and this stuff is factual" all I can think of is the picture of a fool playing with fire thinking he can control it.

I have no problem with people clopping in the privacy of their own homes and the content they do that to is kept out of the availability of children and such. I have an issue when I can google a character like twilight sparkle and dirty/gorey images come up. A child can easily stumble upon that stuff and it's kinda gross. If I had a kid I wouldn't want my child seeing that kinda stuff. Ya know?

So you're saying you never used the internet as a kid? Never played games on like coolmathgame or something, that is on the internet. Also to be honest with you, google is something so easy to access.
Letting your child use the internet is not wrong, plus they might use it for school projects, or stuff like that

Keiichi72 In reply to Timerifts [2015-11-21 22:32:00 +0000 UTC]
I didn't gain access to the internet until I was 12, (in a mature home-school family, so 12 is the 16), because my parents were smart. Anyone who talks with the ideals you just gave are only looking for an excuse to say they were right when it's clear they were wrong.
So let me take your response statement by statement:
"So you're saying you never used the internet as a kid? Never played games on like coolmathgame or something, that is on the internet."
Yes.
"Also to be honest with you, google is something so easy to access."
Only as accessible as the tools you have at hand. I can't go on google with a PC or gaming console, and even then to connect said device I must go through my family's internet password, (which I now know but didn't then). So yeah; it's easy to keep kids where they should be, and Googles only as easy to access, (for a child), as someone makes it.
"Letting your child use the internet is not wrong."
It's only wrong if YOU have a problem with what's on it. The internet connects EVERY other internet connected device out there, and by connecting a child to it; you are effectively placing them at the mercy of the world. I'm very curious how you intend to argue that statement...
"plus they might use it for school projects, or stuff like that."
If the kids school requires they go on the internet; supervise. Set the site up for them, and help them use it properly throughout the project.
Bottom line: A child is only as vulnerable as the guardian/parent makes them. My parents were smart, and knew that blaming society was stupid, because regardless of who's to blame; once the damage is done, it's done. If you want your child to be safe; you make them safe. No one else can stop you from doing the right thing, and barking at the world for your own ignorance is just the kind of petty thing most other parents might do.
I rest my case.

It's not a view; if a child accesses the internet and sees something they shouldn't, it's not the fault of whoever put it out there. Blame falls on the provider of the tools the child needed in the first place. It's like handing a 2 year old a gun and not expecting them to pull the trigger.
I'm speaking facts, not opinions.
And I knew it was over a year ago, hence why my original comment was so brief, (I didn't expect a response); it was when you replied and talked as though what you said was the iron truth that my argumentative nature kicked in and replied with an even more iron truth.
Children *can't* access the internet without an internet service provider; of which must be paid by an adult with an income. This alone turns my "opinion" into a fact.
If you can't say otherwise; then this debate is over, or should I say never started.
I would say I took this too seriously, but I think we can both agree that we have strong feelings towards the subject at hand, and the internet burning the minds of children should never be taken lightly. I only aim to ensure the finger is pointed in the right direction.

Timerifts In reply to Keiichi72 [2015-11-24 00:15:43 +0000 UTC]
But my problem is when they can look up their favorite characters name and 18+ stuff comes up. That is what bothers me, not that people make it, I was more leaning to maybe categorizing it not under the characters direct name or something.
That is a very bad analogy because no one would hand a two year old a gun but I see where you are coming from
I understand that you state some true things but the way you spoke it came off a lot like opinion, and it seemed kinda like your ideas were the only right ones which probably is never the case in anything.
I understand that children can access the internet through their parents/guardians but now a days you cant hand a kid a device like ipad to play games on without constantly being bombarded by stuff from the internet .
Also saying your opinion is a fact, no matter the context sounds very narcissistic, and the way you are coming across is as well.
We both feel strongly about the topic yes, and we have opposing ideas but that does not make your ideas superior which was my main problem with your first comment and was the reason I replied. If anything the finger can be pointed in either direction depending on ones point of view and beliefs, so trying to prove you are the only right one is not going to work, because there is evidence for the other side, whether or not I can provide it.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Keiichi72 In reply to Timerifts [2015-11-24 13:57:53 +0000 UTC]
So you're only goal was to prove me wrong? I've presented an argument, evidence, and example (myself);
Argument: I say blame the adults because there wouldn't be a problem if they were vigilant in the first place.
Evidence: Kids can not access 18+ material on the internet without an internet service provider; this fact is my evidence supporting the above claim.
Example: I had no access to the internet until I was old enough to handle the material it came with, and all my parents needed was a secure network that I couldn't access without permission. This example suggests that it is possible for the parent/guardian to limit their childs' access to the web, and if they blame society they're only unable to face the truth of their own actions.
You seem to support the idea that the internet should be for everyone, but going by it's very nature; it should not.
The internet connects millions of computer devices across the globe, and by the very action of connecting to it; you are putting your device at the mercy of the computer world. Any other computer device can hack your device through it, and you can access a multitude of files from other devices yourself. If you Google search "Twilight Sparkle"; you are looking for any files related to that term, *posted* by other people that you know nothing about.
The internet is a scary place and nothing anyone can do will change that. Google did set up a adult content filter, but even that failed when people found ways to by-pass it, and the same would happen with a categorizing feature. You would click the "Kids" category and still get porn, it's just how the internet, no the *world*, works.
If I'm a stuck up prick who only thinks of himself as right and everyone else as wrong; then that's what I am. If I was a creep who was looking to get your account info, and you happened to be some child allowed access to the internet for whatever reason; then no amount of what I said here would make a difference. It doesn't matter if I'm narcissistic or not; if I'm right then I'm right.
Now I'd like to hear your answer to this question:
The internet is a big place mostly filled with adults who know enough to bypass filters; how do you expect Google to compete with the world's interest in getting their 18+ content to the front of the search engine, regardless of filters or categorizing?

I just don't give a fuck.
I live by a very simply philosophy; People should be free to do what they want so long as;
1. There is consent on both sides.
2. Neither side gets hurt.
3. It is legal(this one is kinda important)
4. It is done in the confines of one's own home. And, I realize there is a lot of gray(well, not a lot, but a fair amount) or it could be twisted in some ways, but....so long as it's not hurting anyone and small children don't see it, I've no real problem with Rule 34. (And, yes this applies to MLP as well).

Because the world itself is a mess. We are in a sinking ship we can't run away from. World economy is crumbling. Overpopulation is exhausting our resources. Many countries are at war right now, if not with other countries, with themselves. The energetic crisis is more notorious everyday, and life is becoming more about surviving than about living and enjoying it. Unfortunately, this leads people into look after themselves and forget about the others, when cooperating would actually work better for everyone, but we all fear for our own lives.

The bottom line for me is this: people can't control what they find sexually attractive. Homosexuals, for example, can't just choose to not find the same sex attractive, and if a homosexual who is a decent person had an opportunity to enter a consensual relationship or have a consensual sexual encounter with someone of the same sex, why shouldn't they be able to? Hell, I feel terrible for pedophiles, because they can't help that they find pre-pubescent children attractive, except the problem with that is that any sexual encounter they could have with a child would not be consensual, and is therefore wrong. That being said, I have the utmost respect for pedophiles who are decent enough people to know that acting on their desires is wrong and who can control themselves.
So that brings us to the ponies. In the case of pony porn, all characters are fictional and pictures are drawn, so no consent is necessary. Why then, should cloppers be ashamed of viewing such material? Especially given that there are many out there who not only find the ponies sexually attractive, but are also not at all attracted to humans (or at least to a much lesser extent). If there's only certain things that turn you on, and engaging in those things is not causing any problems for anyone, you should have EVERY RIGHT to engage in those things.
I know people are going to use the argument "It is causing a problem for people, because children or adults who don't want to see it may accidentally encounter it on the internet." First of all, children should not be using the internet without supervision essentially until their guardian decides they can handle encountering porn or any other "horror" of the internet on their own. And for adults who think that pony porn shouldn't exist because they don't like seeing it occasionally, you are nothing but selfish pricks, the internet is not tailor-made for your needs alone, so suck it up.
P.S. People act like it would be the end of the world if a child happened to view pony porn, which is ridiculous. I agree that ideally they shouldn't be exposed to it, but I honestly just want everyone to think of what would happen if they were. Depending on the child or picture in question, the child will either not even realize that what they have seen is "sexual" and pay no mind to it, will be confused and seek the guidance of an adult, or may become scared and seek guidance from adult. Even in the WORST CASE SCENARIO, most children are going to be able to get on with their lives without any mental scarring from seeing pony privates.

'First of all, children should not be using the internet without supervision essentially until their guardian decides they can handle encountering porn or any other "horror" of the internet on their own'.
Careful now - that almost sounds like you're suggesting people shouldn't be allowed to use the internet unsupervised until they're prepared to see anything and everything that could be present on the internet, regardless of how horrific it might be.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
TheBassist37 In reply to Cuddlepug [2014-10-01 16:44:38 +0000 UTC]
Thanks for pointing that out, I'm realizing now that it wasn't exactly the point I wanted to make. I'm not saying that children have to be ready to see something really screwed up and just brush it off, but parents have to understand that when unsupervised there will ALWAYS be a risk of their children seeing something that they may not want to, and should only allow children to use the internet unsupervised if they feel that the risk is small enough to be worth it. The internet is not a safe place and probably never will be, and it doesn't make any sense to remove things (which in the case of mlp porn are almost always just drawings) from the internet just because certain people don't want to see them. I don't enjoy websites that show pictures of actual gruesome injuries and deaths, but as long as the people in the pictures weren't INTENTIONALLY hurt or killed for photography, the only reason I would have for wanting them removed would be that I don't want to see them. When the only thing someone has against something on the internet is that they don't want to see it, it should always be allowed to stay because as I said before: the internet is not tailor-made for specific groups or individuals.

It's odd for me. I don't become aroused by ponies in general, yet I do write pony erotica. I've said before that it is because I see the characters as fully realized beings, who would have lives that include things along the lines of sex and relationships. I write what I do because the story interests me.

I honestly believe this stems from the fact that the ponies in the show are portrayed as interesting, human-like female characters with human traits considered to be pretty (big, pretty eyes with big eyelashes, baby-doll faces/heads, slim bodies, simple curved backsides).
I don't mind people 'clopping' or whatever, so long as they TAG their stuff and put it in the proper sites. Otherwise, innocent little girls and boys watching the show will see this stuff and it's extremely graphic at times. Personally I'm a fan of a lot of the fiction being written--not really for the sex parts, or even romance, but so many good pony fics are full of it that it's become a part of that fan fiction community.

With Stallions/Male characters it's almost non existent, which is a shame in my opinion. What I like, is the idea of submissive males because it's the exact opposite of how society views male behavior (E: Dominant, alpha male, macho, plays sports etc. ) I also like the idea of strong women and Gender role inversion.

I just don't feel right if I'm thinking about finding a pony like Fluttershy or Rarity sexy if I'm not their species or a compatible breed like a dragon or whatnot. Same goes if they're humans and I'm a pony.

Rexlare [2014-09-29 05:53:46 +0000 UTC]
You know what I think? In general about MLP and being mature?
I think that the grimdark stuff and insanity is tasteless. When you bring that subject into something as pure and innocent like MLP it really does show something about those people. Insanity on its own should never be put into something that isn't about insanity. Like American Horror Story, you can put insanity there. But in something like Spongebob, insanity and psychopaths don't belong.
And then there's the subject of Erotica. First off shame on bronies who find the regular ponies sexy. We're humans, they're quadrupedal animals. I don't ever see a picture of a pony in stockings with a sassy look and think
"Wow that's hot!"
I think more of
"... why is that here?"
Now I must confess that humanized and even CERTAIN anthronized pictures are sexy because they're much more human like which I can accept.
However I will say there's a difference between erotica and porn.
Erotica is a picture showing off the body in a beautiful way. Because there is nothing more beautiful to someone else than the body. So an example would be a picture of a lady either naked or in some outfit that shows off her bodies features (example being lingerie). HOWEVER porn is when you show the so called "Bound and Gagged" or some other sexual act. An example would be one I was unfortunate to find, was a picture of an anthronized Octavia sucking an anthronized vinyl scratches horn while Vinyl shoved the bow of Octavia's cello up her vagina. I had only one thing to say.
"How revolting."
So in closing. I don't mind the sexual content of MLP but only to a certain degree. Porn and Erotica are two different things, and I only accept the erotica if the characters are either Anthro's or Humans. NO OTHER ACCEPTIONS
