Starlight seems to polarise views - lots of people seem to dislike her!

I'm so done with Starlight Glimmer episodes. I miss back when she was "completely evil". She's just so damn bland and it makes the whole first episode feel uneventful as hell.Β

Do you think she might improve if she appears in every episode of Season 7?

Lattynskit In reply to Cuddlepug [2017-04-15 19:06:28 +0000 UTC]

LMAO no not at all. She's such a quirky blank slate in the worst possible way-- there's nothing to improve her character on. "She's amazing at everything!" She's so overqualified that it makes the whole show feel beyond pointless. Β I'd personally perfer just seeing episodes with other new random ponies or something because this is really depressing to watch anymore.Β

I'm honestly not to think of the rating

I'd give it a 6, ya the song was interesting but I feel like Starlight makes the same mistakes
Trixie though, I can not get enough of her xD

Still, Trixie did have some funny moments

I liked the episodes More slice of life stuff but it gave character development about both Celestia (I loved how motherly she acted in that flashback) and then Trixie's and Starlight's friendship which was a very nice development imo. That's something I was missing in the last season but I'm guessing that Trixie was going around with her Tour at the time and now has finished it.

I think the point of this season will be developing the friendship between Trixie and Starlight as it seems that she's teaching magic to Trixie ^^ All in all, perhaps an A. Not an A+ as we didn't get much action but it was still very enjoyable.

Busy with a pointy pony comic at this moment.

Both of these episodes were really luckluster and boring. Also even more underwhelmed than S6 premiere. Obviously writers have no idea what to write in the new seasons. They don'w even have a stroy arc.

I didn't love the episodes either. It was just random and the first episode was just memory and Twilight worrying about Starlight. However, it did open us up to what's going to happen with Starlight and her venture away from the main story. It was a little boring I will agree though. I likes the song though

The episode starts off with us celebrating Starlight, Discord, Thorax, and Trixie saving Equestria and defeating Chrysalis. Twilight needs to find something new to teach Starlight. Celestia gives her some advice, and Twilight decides to send her away to continue learning on her own. Twilight considers sending her to the Dragons or Changelings, in some hilarious fantasy sequences. They are some of my favorite scenes in the series. Just how ridiculous and over the top the ideas of how they could go wrong is hilarious.

This is also our Celestia episode, and we got a really good flashback of her own fears when she sent Twilight away. She decides to have Starlight graduate, and Starlight is surprised. Discord wanted to turn Celestia's castle into cheese. Changeling GORE fest. Starlight however chooses to saty, in a really sweet ending.

Amazing episode. Good jokes, good character moments, and some nice character development.

A-

This episode has a fun start with Trixie and Starlight. It's a cute and fun start. Spike, Starlight, and Trixie stay behind as the mane 6 go on a Friendship retreat. Starlight has become sort of a mentor for Trixie, teaching her magic. This is a fun idea with a ton of potential. however during a practice of teleportation spells, they make the map disappear. They try and find it while Starlight tries to keep her frustrations bottled up. Trixie just nonchalant attitude is hilarious, and the moral about you need to let someone know when you're angry. You can't just keep your emotions bottled up. The bottle she was storing her anger in breaks and infects Bulk, Granny, and the jewel shop pony. Trixie does not care, but she is called out on it. This lets there be good humor and emotion. The ending is so cute when they find it.

The Mane 6 are also trapped in a puzzle room and work together to get out. Not much to say about it aside from this is just plain fun. We also get a song. It's alright. Not a great one, but decent. But nothing I would go listen to on loop.

One of my favorites. Good moral. Good story. Good jokes and writing. I didn't expect this to be that great, but it is! I say it's better than Celestial Advice.

A+

You just seem biased against Starlight.

I enjoyed both episodes and there were some very funny moments. The second one I liked a lot more since it centered on Starlight and Trixie but at the same time it gives Starlight and Trixie some character development.

I found both episodes to be thoroughly boring, to be honest. Felt like mid-season drift, not the way to kick off your show's seventh season.

Shame how much the show has declined since the introduction of that hellspawn Starlight Glimmer. Perhaps the pagan sacrifice set to come later in the season will return Equestria to its former glory

Exactly, I don't know why Twilight is so conflicted over this aspect of their relationship. Feels like the writers are just trying to draw out our suffering

Cuddlepug In reply to AliceMaple [2017-04-15 18:33:06 +0000 UTC]

Do you think in the absence of a genuine villain in the show, the show creators have made themselves the greatest villains of all?!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AliceMaple In reply to Cuddlepug [2017-04-15 18:38:54 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps, though inadvertently I think. Show execs may find villains these days to be too non-advertiser friendly, and are squandering the creativity of their writers, causing an emotional backlash within their writing. Only true fans could distinguish this flux in the writer's emotions

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Cuddlepug In reply to AliceMaple [2017-04-15 18:39:39 +0000 UTC]

I've noticed it myself. The writers are nefarious, slovenly and prone to evil, and you need only look at recent episodes to see this.
