I heard that season 5 will include a famous fan-musician of the brony community as a singer and/or actor. Don't want to talk it down, but I am unsure about it. The show-staff shouldn't cater too much to the fanbase (or, more precisely, a specific kind of fans within the fanbase). This could be good, could be bad; Hardcore-bronies will take it as wonderful nontheless.
Before I heard that, I wasn't caring for season 5 that much, now I wanna see how this piece of information works out in the end. Though, as stated, I am not automatically taking it positively.

They all have established personalities. Β Twilight, however, had a personality in the first three seasons - in series 1-3 she's a hard worker, eager to please her mentor Princess Celestia as well as the other residents of Ponyville. Β In those series, she's just treated like any other pony. Β In Equestria Girls and series 4, however, everyone's all "OMG YOU'RE A PRINCESS YOU NEED SPESHUL TREETMENT", and a lot of the time Twilight is not so humble about this, like she expects special stuff cos she's royalty.

Yes, is a show that children and parents can watch together because is not "too childish", and contains a lot of pop culture references that adult people can identify and enjoy,Β but donΒ΄t expect anything too complex, like fully developed characters or plots, because the children would be confused.

I don't know about you, but I was surprised at the s4 finale where Twilight and Tirek were literally trying to KILL each other.
True, MLP will never be the next Fringe, Game of Thrones, or Breaking Bad.Β But on it's own level, it is advancing and developing enough to keep me engaged.
There is a limit to how complex and deep things can get in their universe.Β Time will tell how far the writers will push the envelope on that limit.

And MLP actually surprised me earlier, with Chrysalys and her changelings. Manipulation and emotional blackmail is a much more sinister kind of evil than Tirek's magical brute force.

This is a show originally meant for little girls as opposed to children, so I'm thinking it would be different from Dragon Ball in that regard.
I thought of including Chrysalis in my last post, but I can't really take Queen Cheeselegs feeding off of love as a serious threat to life.
People will react differently to different kinds of villains, I suppose.
