Description The Knight Archetype is probably one of my Favorites....Known for his chivalry, loyalty, self-sacrifice and protection, the Knight is most known for his love of honor...but be careful of Romantic delusions with these Knights....

ummmmm isn't that a roman weapon? an the cross on his chest is jesus, which isn't what the romans worshipped. plus, roman soldiers weren't referred to as knights

Knight, huh? Is that why you're holding a gladius? A ROMAN weapon? Roman fighters were either legionnaires or gladiators. Not knights.

He has a catholic cross and the sword looks more like a spatha, could be a late era roman where the roman army started to use more cavalry.

i would not like to ruin that self-sacrifice myth but you know where that habit for letting ladies enter first comes? from knights! they were so feared of being assasinated that they let the ladies enter first ...and if there were an assasin he/she stabbed the lady and knight remained intact plus by the time the knight already did have enough time to draw his sword and kill the assasin... I'm not sure if this is true but sounds reasonable.

This is an actual photograph!!!????!!?!?!
The context! the lighting! he looks like he just strolled off the battlefield!
How did you find this guy? He even looks like a true Praetorian Guard! So much win in genealogy accuracy that it's almost giving me a nose bleed.

The sword and cross symbolize the armor in this image... It's a way of life more than the armor it's honor not armor that makes a knight :.)

Great picture, although thats a gladius not a long sword or claymore which Knights were known to use.

Gladiuses were standard weapons for Roman legions, not knights whose swords were lengthier.

Id love this even more if he was wearing parts of his armor.

Was that a real sword? I love the lighting and the background.. and he just looks awesome. He looks sweet but oh so dangerous at the same time. Like one of those guys that you just KNOW will break your heart.
The sword gives it an 'old shot' quality, if that make sense?

Cuellar In reply to x-Adrasteia-x [2008-05-04 19:26:05 +0000 UTC]

that's a real sword, a replica of the Braveheart sword..I lit the background from behind and had my main light to the left of him about 4 ft away....he could have been a heart breaker~ but is about as loyal as man can be Ya, I'm glad you get that old shot feel from the sword, tryin' for that feel as well...
