Oh, this is very pleasent to look it. I like you as an artist already! I didnt surf away from the page to read the rest of your character sheme, but I like it anyhow. Another misunderstanding is that I have no idea who or what whimsical tale this fellah comes from. No need to explain, best not ruing the mystisism.
I simply love how you cleverly turned the curves of the sea critter into waves of hair, its this kind of "mind bending" if you will, that keeps us all alive sometimes.
I think that a few qoutes from this character right on the page would help you demonstrate his stick-in-the-muddness.
