At long last it's Chapter 2! Here's my pretty splash page, meant to go over two pages. K'mlar is supposed to be wearing the Igen weyr clothing. I'm really pleased with the this picture, and I hope you all enjoy seeing K'mlar in full nicely shaded colour.To see the full size please click download.

I've been reading this story... IT'S AWESOME! You should get an account on Youtube(if you don't already have one) and try making it an anime type thing. That would be so cool. Just a suggestion. ^^

From what I've read, Ista Weyr is semi-tropical, with a big long white beach with a bay that opens up onto the ocean. The mountains in the background are part of the Weyr.

A great beginning to Chapter Two...my 4 year old grandson, also loves this pic, he said, "I love this picture. Can we get a movie about this cartoon?" Too cute! And sad that I had to tell him, No. But who knows what the future will bring, eh?
I think I will be able to begin reading the Pern books to him soon. I should probably start with Menoly and the DragonSong trilogy.
Anyways, as always, I am very impressed with your work. (no pun intended).

Thanks so much! What a cute story...I heard at one point they had licensed the pern books for a movie, but I think it fell through unfortunately. They'd have to do it really well to make it fly, else it would just be another cheesy dragon movie like Eragon and Dungeons & Dragons.

Yeah...I'm surprized someone hasn't attempted to make movies from anything that Anne McCaffrey has written...I mean, either of the Rowan or the Pegasus series, would make good movies, too. Not to mention the possibilities in one of my other favourites, Planet Pirates. Just as good or better than the Harry Potter stuff. They didn't do too bad with the Hungarian Horned Dragon in HP#4.
Talking about cheesy movies...another fav author of mine is Robert Heinlein, but they sure did a bad job of Starship Troopers. Besides he wrote some other stuff that is far more worthy of the effort.
Hopefully technology will keep improving and we will get o see some impressive shows based on McCaffrey's works.
