Description
Here's a super quick coloured character sketch of Zarinth when she's all grown up. Pretty no? I do emphasize that this is a quick colouring job, so it's a little flat looking. In my mind she should look more like liquid gold. Anyway, enjoy!All comments welcome.

Isn't it? I'm just glad I've finally gotten to a level that I'm okay with. I really want to go back and redraw a couple of the earlier panels where Colianth looks super gibbled.

Something weird is going on. Every time I try to look at this picture, nothing ever loads up. This is like the 10th time I've tried. >(

It does that to me sometimes. What I do is just leave it for a while and come back in a couple hours. Its annoying, but its just a weird glitch.

Very pretty! I'd never actually looked much at your dragon design, so this is a real eye opener! It's so different from the dragon I'd ever imagined, yours is longer. Awesome job!

I actually prefer the dextrous toe thing... I just can't draw them like that >_> the toes of Ruth on All the Weyrs of Pern and The White Dragon have those... bird/lizard toes that look like they could just.. cling to things all kinds of awesome e_e
The only thing that bothers me is that extra... hinge looking thing on the foot. the one after the heel and before the toes.. but oh well XD

Mmm. She's so pretty. I just finished my gold fire lizard piece that I sketched waaaay back in 2005 and have been having loads of fun comparing your dragon to my fire lizard. It's cool to see the simmilarities and differences. =^.^=

Yeah, I based mine strongly off the existing Pern dragon art just so people wouldn't think I was taking crazy liberties with the design. I really wanted to add horns, ridges and stuff.

I used the cover of the "Dragonsong/singer/drum" to base my firelizard queen and then just had some fun with her after that. I'm sure people wouldn't mind if you took a few liberties.

Pretty dragon, by the way. I'm not a huge fans of golds though... Primarily their riders. Don't ask, I'm not entirely sure myself.

I agree actually. That's why I wrote this comic. When I was a huge fan of Pern when I was younger my big fantasy was to be a bronze rider. Who wants their dragon to sit on eggs half the time?

Ahh... Now I understand what you were talking about when you said you your dragon feet looked funny. I agree that you should shorten the toes to make it look more natural though. Other then that, she is beautiful!!! Maybe a darker color yellow if you get to recolor it....

I'm still trying to decide on a wing style, and I think this is pretty close. When I draw the bones right up to the joint it just ends up looking messy. I might redraw some of the previous frames with dragons in them to match this design.
