Description My entry to the Glasgow Comic Con booklet 2012.

The theme this year was "2000AD versus The Avengers",
so I decided to draw Judge Anderson and old Iron Pants!

Hopefully it will make the grade...

Thanks - It's a real oldie...!

PS
Dredd is classic - Especially the 1980s comics.

I just love 2000AD,
its what made me want to create my own stuff, and the different art styles were awesome,
it had some truly kick ass ladies- and they were able to be sexy without boobs and buts on every page,
I think Venus blue genes was my favorite character and Thargs future shocks- like X-files but with more thrill-powerΒ

i've only read the old comics since I collect them so don't know how stuff is now- blimey that makes me sound geekyΒ

The old comics from the 80s are the best, once 2000AD went colour, it got crap and forgot the humour.

PS
Ron Smith and Bryan Talbot are my two fave artists.

"Nemesis" and "Slaine" are some of the finest comic tales ever made.

that's very sad the black humor in those comics was the bestΒ - I love the old black and white stuff it probably takes allot of time to do with inks and all,

I don't know many artists, but i'll look those two up- I need inspiration to get a good style for my artΒ ,

Slaine was awesome- you could see they really did the research on Celtic traditions for it,
lack of research really tends to bug me when it comes to anything like that- you can have a bit of made up stuff, but too much and you lose the belief the audience has in the comic,

Nemesis is cool, I've only seen the first episodes of it from a annual- Id love the real thing but its probably expensive and I need to save for an Xbox one so I can playΒ wolfensteinΒ

Ah, Anderson. Brett Ewins really made the best looking version of her. But yeah, only a Mega-city judge could have the physical strength to beat the shit out of Iron Man, with a baton.

Awesome stuff

She was the first judge to turn "emo" too!
But that was the 1990s..."Jesus Syndrome", and other crappiness...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DocAllan In reply to curtsibling [2012-06-18 14:44:29 +0000 UTC]

Nobody considers those story's. Hell, there's only been a very few 2000AD storys from the 90's that I consider being worth a damn. Anything really in the sort of "Bisley-era" isn't really worth a thing, compared to the glory days. the "Wanna-be-Metal-Hurlant" era wasn't known for it's good writing.

....Friggin' 2000ADs obsession with making good story's into friggin angsty garbage.

All that dreadlocked, fake-anti-corporation angst is what stopped me reading the mag...
