By rights, due to its sheer size(look at those jaws!) Derpitosaur should have been the apex predator of the Mesozoic seas. However, this evolutionary dead-end (or knob/bell-end) quickly went extinct. I mean, JUST LOOK AT IT!!

I'll admite, I'm not a massive sauro fan, but there are some great dino artists on DA!

Common legend has it that Nessie is a Plessie.

With those teeth, I doubt it was a predator. Look, even Nessie chomps her!
BTW I always felt more sympathy for ichthyosaurs instead of dolphins... fuck those manipulative cetaceans, Ichthyosaurs were so cool.

It's called Liopleurodon ( at least looks like it ). This shit was incradably big and could feel the moving of water to search food for it. But yeah it was too way big and not as fast as sharks for example. The only one + of that shit was that a sark could be aten buy this one without even chewing XD

Dunno, it could move and 60kmh, which is quite fast enough!
I could move a little faster than it's prey, and the species lived
for 150 million years...A successful type of marine creature!
PS
If you ever see "Planet Dinosaur", it has an splendid episode with Pred-X in it!

It might be on Youtube...!
A vast beast like Pred-X could generate plenty of energy to move that 45 ton body in deep water!

Liopleurodon was actually around 21 feet. For some reason Walking With Dinosaurs made it 80 feet(way too big).

Well most popular kind of them Liopleurodon Ferox ( the classic vertion ) was up to 24 feets long. That's not so big, tho not small at all. But also Liopleurodons are aΒ part of Pliosauroideas and sometimes Liopleurodon name as most popular and well known using for Pliosauroideas ( exeptions other famouse Pliosauroideas like Rhomaleosaurus for exampleΒ ) So different Familis, but the same Order. And Pliosauroideas can be up to 50 feet( biggest ) what is extrimly big. Idk what is Walking With Dinosaurs but 80 feet... that's really too big XD

Oh I see. So it's like whatΒ "Brontosaurus" is for sauropods.

I wonder what happened to the Pegalodon... the craziest sea skank (shark) of its period.

I can see why; its body structure makes for cumbersome swimming- it's like someone sneezed while they tried drawing a crocodile!
Either that or it's dumber than a bag of rocks
