Darth Doblet is still trying to divide up "good and bad people" by whether or not they suck this movie off.
Imagine having literally no worthwhile accomplishments so you think your opinion about a dumb space movie is your access card to "the good people".
Soyboys are more dogmatic than any religious person I've ever encountered

So welcome! Just telling the truth, really. For me, the true Star Wars story after Return Of The Jedi was from the novels in the Expanded Universe, where Leia has the twins Jaina and Jacen, and Luke has his son, Ben. Please keep up the amazing work in your gallery and drop by mine anytime.

Keep me entertained? Naaaa, you don't need to, I just appreciate this amazing pic and had to say something to support it. I know a lot of people are thinking it, but just want to be "PC" (politically correct) and not say anything. I'm not in the immediate rush to see the new movie, I'll leave it to the "woke" Millennials of today. But again, thanks for this.

looking back, the writing and acting for star wars was never really that good. people liked it because people were putting passion into it. people hate it now because it feels like a hollow way to make money off of nostalgiaΒ

I tend to disagree. I think the writing on the old movies was solid. The mugs writing most movies in the current time don't know their jobs, that is the core of the problem.

Star Wars and Star Trek were way better 20 years ago when only geeks and nerds were watching. Ever since the main stream has started liking them the quality of writing has been dumbed down a lot.

I have a bad feeling about this.... comment.
Im a Star Wars fan and i didnt realized for quite a while how much im quoting stuff from the movies. The Prequels got clearly their problems. Someone should have kept Mr. Lucas a bit more in line. Specially in the Phantom Menace. I liked the movie first but that faded a bit hard as the time moved on. I dont hate it. But i can see why people have problems. I think they should have really tried to fix Jar Jar. He was one of the main problems in that. Then some cringy scenes in Episode 2 and 3. You might complain about all the political talk all over the place. Granted. I liked it. But i can completely understand as Star Wars is more a fairy tale in a Sci-Fi setting and not Star Trek, which is more the real world in Sci-Fi. But at least they got all a consistent plan and story. And while we are at it. There are the people that say its good they ditched the Expanded Universe. Else we would have no need to go to see the movies as we all would know what would happen. And i guess with the prequels, Solo and Rogue One this isnt the case... hmm?
Its not a bad idea to cut back a bit on the EU to fix logic holes and take out stuff that isnt good in the end. But ditching everything was a stupid idea. Complaining after the ditch that they dont have enough source material.... Its a joke. I liked Episode 7 and i avoided spoilers and what ever before i watched the Last Jedi. When i left i wasnt sure what i had been watching. It wasnt good but i was at least entertained. As longer i walked home and the days passed i realized how bad that thing was. I hoped JJ would fix stuff. But nope. He went over the top and went nuts.Β
I havent seen the new movie yet. Im planning to go. So far i have seen hours of reviews from people that hated and more or less liked it. Also there were the news about the leaks from months ago that came true. They clearly messed it all up. They had no plan and made stuff up on the fly. The last movie needed to fix what the previous one had broken. Then what went on outside the movie. On the sets, in the parks with Galaxies Edge and other stuff. Bob Igor writing in his book that he knew that George felt betrayed by them. That he bought a script pitch from Lucas for Episode 7-9 and ditched it.
There has been a lot of stuff going on in front and behind the scenes during the production of the Star Wars movies. Like Sir Alec Guiness hating his role as Obi Wan, but fought down a mutiney around the film crew on set. Or the Tunesian government asking Lucas to move his large somewhat threatening track vehicle a bit further away from the border. None of the movies is perfect and there had been always problems. But what Disney did with the franchise in my opinion is the worst. They threw out a bunch of money for it and the fanbase. And then they want to get rid of what made Star Wars what it is. And on top of that the people who paid for it and ther merch? So for what they paid all that money?
Thank you if you made it that far. It was a looooong rant. As Christmas is almost over is spare you that.
Happy New Year.Β
Edit: I always think that blue Bear is a parody of Drunk 3PO from Geeks + Gamers. Since the moment i saw that guy for the first time with a simlar hat.

Good post.
I am really torn about going myself, but I have seen all other SW movies, and feel I have to
finish the process and see this one too. But first, I am going to see Cats!

Thank you!
Cats seems like they are going to get a "patch." Lol. Patch culture now hits the cinemas if that is true. Whats next? DLC?
I still need to see Solo (which got completely pushed away from Star Wars in China and still bombed.) It seems to be a good or at least mediocre movie that got drowned in the bad PR from Last Jedi. Also... who at that point in time needed a Han Solo origin story at this moment?
And yeah. I feel the same. I wasnt on this planet when the first movies came out. And movie/pop culture got written. Now i can go and see how it ends. So far the shows, even the ones with lower expectations did entertain me. But the last two movies.....Β

If it's any consolation more people nowadays look for other places outside of Hollywood for high quality movies. Like for a few examples, Netflix, Europe, Britain and Asia. And besides, there's more sci-fi franchises than just Star Wars people can watch.
There's plenty of stars in the universe.

Do you think I have never heard of Netflix?
And don't worry about me, man - There are decades of good SF novels and movies to consume.
I don't give a rat's ass for nonsense from the modern era. I find solace in the old media.

When you mean βold mediaβ, do you mean somewhere from the 1960βs to the 2000βs? Also, If youβre looking for a movie
with a bit of nostalgia to it then I would definitely recommend Manborg. It is considered by reviewers a tribute to bad science fiction movies and eighties VHS culture.

video nasties and cheese SF are familiar to me.

I've always wondered: was the fashion back then really that much of a disaster as everyone said it was and was Thatcher really a right tosser of a prime minister?

curtsibling In reply to Mister-Crool [2019-12-29 16:02:01 +0000 UTC]
It wasn't a disaster, because that was the accepted style of things at the time.
And yes, Thatcher was a cow and a traitor to the class she was born from.
(She was a grocer's daughter and made millions unemployed.)
