Weee! 1st Tutorial from me! Hope not the last one
I made this charms from nothing more than scraps of felt and a wee bit of imagination.
I like the way they turned out, all small and creepy, hehehe.

Yes, specially if the fabric is a bit rigid. One suggestion is fleece.

A very good tutorial overall.
One thing I think you could give a little more info on is the "accordion style sewing" that you mention in step 4.
I think it's essential to making the shape of the apple come out right.

Si agregas un pequenio circulo de tela donde cierra el circulo y lo coses alrededor, (sobretodo si entresacas las arrugas ke se le hacen) kedara mas redondo y se oculta.
